It's nicer to see weapons floating a little off the body than to see them impaled through the back.
It's called learning how to rig/animate. They have great character mo-cap animation. But apparently no attention to detail in editing their cycle animations to make sure there is no clipping during them..It is just editing a few keyframes to adjust for clipping. But I guess that is too time consuming for just a little attention to detail.

Or they could have placed the gun on the lower back of the character like how Lightning does. I think that would look better and not have as much clipping and doesn't need to be floating like the gun doesn't want to touch your filthy dirty back.

Actually, it's completely valid given the same team from then is working on the game. XI's big answer to clipping weapons was to have the characters stand with their arms held out making it look like they had shoulder muscles incapable of tiring and stand in gaits that resembled mild cases of rickets. Obviously unnatural. They went with more traditional, relaxed poses but that brings back clipping, which people inevitably complained about ad nauseaum. Make up your bloody minds, do you want characters that look good or do you want to get rid of clipping? Can't have it both ways without something looking wrong.

You can have it both ways but then you sacrifice the lower end systems playability.

Hatchet is still connected via shoulder. So unless you have a better "floating pic" then it's moot

Been thinking about this for awhile now, it is very annoying. Never though anyone would make a post about it though XD!

It's funny how we superglue weapons to our back from the beginning. In FFXV and Type-0 people can summon weapons from thin air and make them disappear when they're not in combat.

I usually just laugh at stuff like this. It isn't game breaking or mind blowing for me.

Thank you for this thread! It's really annoying. My secondary is Mch and i'd hate floating weapons.
