    Auri Summoners

So just a quick question. Sorry if this has been asked before or the topic is hiding somewhere I haven't been able to find. Being an Au Ra, how would I justify becoming a Summoner? I haven't delved too far into Heavensward, so I apologize if there is an obvious answer for this later.

It just seems as if they have their own Gods, own beliefs, and that primal entities would really clash with these beliefs. Let alone controlling the essence of said primals. So how would an Au Ra go about becoming a Summoner, and how would they grasp the concepts of it? I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around it, so please by all means come in here and toss all sorts of ideas and evidence around.

Othard, the place were Aura live, has been said to have summoned primals against the Garleans, not sure if this was before or after their 1st Eorzean invasion.

Yugiri even mentioned that there are beasts similar to Leviathan where she lived.

We don't know anything about Auri religion. Precious little information on them is given throughout 3.0, and only if you do certain Job quests (WHM, or so I've heard, and DRK).

Either way, we learn that primals aren't really gods, just sentient manifestations of mortal desires powered by aether (their conversion rate is terrible though). Before then, we considered them "false gods," and denounced everything they stand for to the point of going deicide on them.

... the summons of yon SMN class aren't primals, either. They're just tiny little pieces of your own aether.

This, I didn't know. This definitely adds a different element to the equation. I just started on SMN not too long ago, so this is definitely good information to have, thank you.

This, I know. As well as the bit about them not being Gods. I get all that. I'm just going off of what I know, and how I think Auri would perceive such.

The ninja quests are about the princess of a doman clan ^^

Not really, there has been a primal in Othard and you are supposedly an adventurer in Eorzea that have defeated Ifrit so you should know about Primals, I don't really see the issue.

Well that just opens a whole other can of worms when you think about it. So essentially each Au Ra exists in a special bubble of special snowflakeness. I mean, I didn't really have that adventure on my Au Ra since I used a Fantasia, so that thought hadn't even come to mind.

Except Fantasia's are just a gameplay mechanic, according to the story your character did all the story regardless of what race you are now. Au Ra adventurers are now a thing, just much rarer until recently and mostly in the Ishgard/Dravanian region. As well being that you are in Eorzea instead of somewhere else could be for any reason, form the Garlean invasions to you just...having left. Not like every person has to follow the exact same religon of their culture right?

As well even if the Primals were gods, they aren't the gods of the other five playable races. So I'm not really seein the issue here.

Well, Summoners do use the Trance system, and the Xaela are quite similar to Mongolians, who entered shamanic trances to commune with their ancestral spirits. As far as summoning the Egis goes, you'd still need to kill primals as normal.

There's the Xaela clan that worshipped Dalamud; it could fit in lore-wise that a immigrant following the fall of the lesser moon found out what was really inside and started to dabble into summoning.
