    Living Room PC Ideas

Recently moving and having to deal with new placements of almost everything, me and my GF's gaming situation for XIV has changed. Before we had a 2 Bedroom where as the extra bedroom was our office and we were able to fit both our desks for our PCs and her PS4. (She plays XIV on the PS4 on a 19" screen that mimics a PC set up)
In our new place which is still a 2 bedroom, the situation has changed to where we now went from a single story to a 2 story townhouse. The "Office" room is much smaller and can not host 2 people and their desks. So, I decided to utilize my nice flat screen tv and my nice recliners (my back is very thankful), to stay downstairs and turn my set up from a desk oriented set up to a Living room set up.
Now that you have a small breakdown of the situation, I wanted to inquire with my favorite community on what ideas you may have to make this work, or if anyone else does this, and if so, how do you manage? Pictures of set ups, of living room PCs or traditional Desk Pcs are very much welcome if they would be constructive to the topic.

A little about my gaming preferences:

-I am a controller user on a PC.
-I use a mouse for Marking or clicking low priority hotkeys such as changing jobs, using potions, eating food. (If it becomes an issue with the new set up i will fully adopt the controller.)
-I have a Wireless Keyboard for typing only and short commands ( crtl+U) -- I do not want it sitting on my legs. I looked into keyboard "Lap Desks" but eh. I am looking for maybe a swivel table that can sit low and be moved out of the way.
-I have a wireless mouse. Again, preferably to be used on a hard surface.
-I intend on buying a headset for all my sounds so that i don't disturb everything on the first floor.

Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated. I know some people feel strongly against a set up in the living room, and though i would agree, this isn't the reality of my current situation.

    Thank you~

If you only use keyboard for minor commands and typing then I would suggest that you scratch the external mouse and get an all in one keyboard. My wife plays with a setup almost exactly what you are asking about.

    Logitech K400

Do a setup like this where you have the table connected to a base that can extend out and swivel. So you can put it away to the side of your couch. When you need it it can slide out and move it wherever you need it. VERY sturdy solution as well if done right.

If you are a do-it-yourself kind of guy you can totally build something like this. If you have tools and a decent knowledge of how to not screw something up, let me know and I'll see if I can come up with a plan for you. I'll also want pics of your couch and what it's made of.

You should be aware though that although the mouse pad works really well, it isnt quite like using a real mouse. So im just giving you a heads up that you will likely want to embrace the controller for more of your tasks in game. They keyboard will work great for more uncommon mouse needs and obviously typing.

I play my PC games in my living room with a mouse and keyboard. I just went to Target and bought a couple of those $15 TV trays people use to eat while watching TV on the couch. No DIY necessary.

Yeahhh but this solution just doesnt scream "comfort". At least not to me, and im guessing the OP as well. If I am playing on a couch I want to lean back and also not have anything sitting on my lap or over my legs in general. Different strokes. XD
