    Ability Change Request Thread

Okay so the purpose of this thread is to bring up issues we may have or have noticed with our abilities, both new and old. Whether you feel the potency is a bit off, the description is misleading, the cooldown timer is too long, or it feels like the ability is missing something. Hopefully, this will shed some light on these issues and let the developers know what kind of changes we wouod like to see. So post all you can /want.

Here is a good way to organize the issue you might have.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

Okay, to kick things off I would like to bring up an issue I have with the Scholar Ability, Emergency Tactics.

    Job/Class: Scholar
    Ability: Emergency Tactics
Description: Transforms the Galvanize effect into a straight heal.
    Cooldown:30s
Issue: While the ability sounds good in theory, the added benefit of negating the Galvanize effect, for a straight heal, is a little backwards when used with Adloquium. For one thing, the MP cost of Adloquium is more than double the cost of 2 Physicks. Second, the added healing is equal to using Lustrate, and Lustrate is instant, as apposed to the casting time needed for Adloquium. And while the heal itself is minorly stronger, since there is still a casting time, spamming Physick is better. And while all of these issues do/would apply to Succor as well, they aren't as prevalent since Succor is an AoE. (I am aware that a crit negates these issues, but only if it crits)
Possible Solution(s): In theory, the move is good, but it needs an extra effect to make it more viable. Possible effects could be: adding an auto crit, so that the potency is justified by the MP cost. Making the next cast instant, which would turn Adloquium into Lustrate basically, meh. Or make it so that the effect doesn't end after one use of a Galvanized spell. If the added effect was up for 15s, that would allow us to at least spam these moves if need be.

Any other thoughts on this ability would be appreciated

    Job: DRK
    Skill: Blood Weapon
Description: Increases attack speed by 10%, restores MP

Issue: TP runs out far too quickly when in OT spot.

Possible Solution: Change to a percentage increase in damage, or allow us to regen TP somehow (Dark Arts with delirium maybe?)

    Job/Class: Machinist
    Ability: Blank
Description: Deals damage with a potency of 100. Additional Effect: 15-yalm knockback
    Cooldown: 30s
Issue: Blank, while being decently powered, as no room for use in dungeon scenarios because of its knockback trait and I often find machinists getting a lot of hate for using it.
Possible Solution(s): Recommend swapping the skill "Blank" with the PvP skill Between the Eyes". The MCH is very utility heavy and having this skill for regular use could dramatically improve the MCH low dps problem and eliminate the annoying knockback. Knockback is really best used in a pvp environment and as not had any real value in dungeons and end-game raiding.
