Regarding the chestpiece... we don't have enough information to determine that it's a good idea to ignore it. Here's a few facts:

1. With the sole exception of Law Gear, every single Tank Chestpiece buyable with Tomes has had Parry on it.
2. In the last 2.5 raids(second coil, final coil, alex normal), the Chestpiece for Tanks has been locked behind the last fight of the raid.
3. If a piece of Blue Gear shares its look with another piece exactly with the sole difference of being dyable, it is due to an upgrade to the original undyable piece.
4. It has been stated that Alex Savage gear will be physically identical to Alex Normal gear with the differences being a higher item level and being dyable.

Here's some possible theories we can concoct due to this.

A. The Esoterics Chestpieces for all three Tanks stand a high chance of having Parry.
B. There is a possibility that Savage Alex gear will be obtained by upgrading Normal Alex gear through items obtained from the Savage fights. I feel like the "Prototype" prefix is also evidence for this, as it screams for an upgraded version that changes the prefix to indicate a finished product.
C. The Tank Chestpiece(and possibly every chestpiece) will likely be gated behind the last fight of Alex Savage.

Therefore, it's probably a good idea to get chestpiece tokens during our first two weeks here. Just in case.
