The new dungeons are cool, have great music but they just are buttons mashing areas rewarding you more tomes. As he said, just a mindless grind. Also, we could talk about the horrible community this game has ( and many players think that as well, just look around the forums ).
You think this game has a horrible community? Final Fantasy XIV?

    Are you kidding me?

The conception of the new shitty modern MMOS may be acceptable and i ACCEPT that the devs are focused on the final raids. But why do i have to lose my time to make mindless grind and easy dungeons just because that's the design of these new MMOS ? As an old hardcore but actual casual, i still want extraordinary challenge when i make a dungeon or when i level an alt. Why should it just be a time sink instead of a skill assessment ?
Because this game wasn't made to cater to you. It was made to cater to alot of people who maybe don't want to have to struggle and abandon duty on leveling dungeons.

I don't really think the dungeons need to be "hard" to be enjoyable, they just need to be interesting. I find almost all of them to be increasingly interesting. It's unfortunate they cant add too many mechanics to them because the majority of people will complain, but that's just how MMOs work.

For example, Monster Hunter is the example of what i'd like too see in an MMO nowadays. Yes, sometimes there is some gathering but your skill is mostly required to kill X monster. You have to use different weapons to break ef---WAIT---
Hold the phone. I refuse to let you sit and gloss over Monster Hunter's grinding aspect, because that is specifically why I don't play that game. Monster Hunter is so padded it isn't even funny, the ONLY fun thing to do is kill difficult monsters, but that game forces you to go pick flowers and mine rocks to get there.

Let's not even get started on me killing a monster, standing over its corpse and RNG deciding which body part i'm going to hack off.

So lets not cherrypick, please. Monster hunter is a real action game, but it's just as guilty of everything you hate about this game. You're just more willing to look past it because it's an action game.

I may feel angry about FF XIV but that's because i love MMOS and the FF universe and for the first time since the end of WOW ( Cataclysm huh ), i found an exciting MMO. But as the OP said, the excitement is temporary.

P.S : I'm currently writing this message in the Forelands Dravania, listening to the awesome theme of this area before leaving, a tear rolling down my cheek
It may suck to hear this, but i just don't think the game is for you. Your tastes have probably evolved in a direction different from what this game is attempting to provide.

Lets be honest here, "hard content" in MMOs almost always equates to world encounters with overly long health bars and hard-hitting mobs. That doesn't make them hard, it just makes them tedious, and they're almost never worth their weight in trouble. Because even when they do have good drops, it's gated behind disgusting RNG that always makes it feel hollow.

Heavensward's areas were just enough dangerous to me to have me actively avoid encounters while leveling BRD, and I think that's about as good as it needs to get.
