WoW did this. Go to any WoW forum and ask them what they think about it.

And not just once, but twice. They did this in MoP, no raids for over a year until WoD launced, WoD is now 7 months in or so and no more raids for probably around 18 months until next expac. They really want their players to quit, it seems.
