Firstly I rarely saw 3 Bards, 2 Bards was quite common, I believe BG was using 2 bards on their WF. Secondly what is quoted illustrates my point even more, Bard's weren't used because their damage was #1, just like how parties were stacking Paladins SE didn't say, hey, let's nerf PLD cooldowns so WAR has a spot, no they buffed warrior and changed how limit breaks and party compositions worked.

They could easily change song effects if more than one Bard is in the party, you know what this does? It makes stacking undesirable without compromising the job.

I just spent 5 minutes trying to find a 3 BRD 1 SMN party and couldn't do so, so they can't be as popular as you say. Maybe the groups are just so hardcore they didn't want their sick strats leaking out.

    Nothx.

    1) Quote me where I said "Bards were #1 DPS". I beg you. Not in a single parse where they top DPS in 2.0 and I never once even said they were.
    2) Didn't I list all of the top group compositions at the top of my post? I wonder why there was only one group with x3 bards and the rest were x2 bard compositions.
    3) Didn't I also list a other reasons why x2-3 bards were picks over what we currently have now?

Other reasons were, how poorly the Dragoon and Monk performed for their relative difficulty back then with the hard-locked 0.3ms delay on instances, which made it harder for Melee Jobs to dodge mechanics and attack at the same time, especially for those with higher latency (EU).

Rain of Death had -10% DMG reduction on targets. So if one bard was down, there was at least another one who could keep reapplying Rain of Death as back-up.

And again, didn't I even say "This all changed in Patch 2.1?".

I genuinely feel like you never even read my post, but decided to nitpick one quote and use it for the basis of your argument. There wasn't one reason why the Bard was preferred over other jobs. I just gave you 10 reasons in total.
