Hyperion has been out since about 2 weeks after the last set of wards was added. If that.

Soon after, not immediately after.

Probably in the ballpark of 3.1, but I will say this about "soon". They said the gold saucer would be "soon" after launch.

... coz it could take a while, on question 63 of the live letter Yoshi said: "We’re currently working to solve the inconvenience in the extended wards, so we believe it’ll be after this."
But also said that there will not be housing in Ishgard because (and I quote) "We think we first need to create a transfer system for players who wish to move to an Ishgard area."
So, its a 3 to 6 month window at the very least.
I'm hoping for instance housing.
Seriously the indoors are already instances. You have to zone through a portal at the door.
There is no reason to not sell instanced housing with a mock back yard with a high brick wall around it to put garden plots in and a shared chocobo stable you pay a weekly or monthly fee to use.
Click the portal, bring up a list of open homes(for folks that leave house open for viewing) and default to yours at top of list.
The MMOs That Kings Isle entertainment runs has this as a nirmal feture. And its far less advanced. Some of the smallest housing instances in their series of children's mmos are several times the size of a Large FC plot while the bigest ones are the size of a small feild area like bronze lake.I'm hoping for instance housing.

So why SE didnt opt for this I dont know. Permissions could be granted based on owners with FCs being permitted slightly larger areas than personal houses and allowing guests to port in via aetherite.
EQ2 was the first game I played with it. Every player got an inn room, but you could buy three room apartments or 5 room mansions.
And they've since added a shit ton of premium and non marketplace stuff.

Going by the wording in the live letter regarding Ishgard housing, I wonder if they're going to go about it a different way. Maybe they'll have land plots in the sky and housing available for more players this time around. One can only dream.

This sounds like a pretty nifty idea, being in a house/mansion on floating islands and are accessible through flight. Although I'm curious on how they'll implement it. So far, the new maps we have high levels of hostility, as compared to the maps that the other three housing locations are. The only map that is not as terrible as the rest is Churning Mists in my opinion, but even that place has a density of threats.
I can Conform moogle also sold out there re 1 -2 Gil 32 000 000 plots available but thats it
