Please, OP, don't claim to speak for the majority of Legacy players. I am Legacy. I'm also an ex-FFXI player. Loved that game, love this one too. I am a member of a medium-sized Free Company and most of us have known each other for a few years, are also Legacy and FFXI players. Some have cleared Final Coil, some haven't. Not one single person who has cleared it, has any problem WHATSOEVER with others clearing it later at a time when it's been made easier by some means. Why would they? Their accomplishment is in clearing it pre-nerf. They know they did that, and they don't need or want the validation that the 'no nerfs evah' argument seems to ask for.

You ask why you should be bothered to learn content that's going to be made easier down the line? Because you want to rise to the challenge! But that's not really what you're looking for, is it? You're looking for that validation I mentioned earlier, the one where the game's scrubs look at you in your cool, impossible to get, raid gear and go 'wow, he must be awesome'. Yoshi P thinks that if you're a hard-core raider, the challenge of beating content before it gets nerfed should be what matters. By the time I get geared for Alex normal, you'll already be geared up and doing Hard Mode. That's fine with me. You're always going to be in the frontline, aiming for server firsts.

Oh wait! No you're not. Because you seem to think that a nerf somewhere down the line negates what you achieved. So you just won't bother. And I really really don't get that argument ...
