Ofcourse no one liked sitting in jeuno for hours for a party I'm fully aware of this. Balance can be found and done correctly. For example this whole beeing in a dutyfinder envoirment all the time is pretty horrible that takes much of the enjoyment of beeing in a random dungone or place and 2 different parties can run by to help you and assist you. I miss that part alot myself. SE could have just learned from FFXI mistakes and make something new that can have the elements that made FFXI so amazing and turn it up a notch instead of presenting us FFXIV A WoW Clone Reborn.

Oh, another "it's a wow clone" post, i thought people realized that mistake back in 2.0 discussions. but here we are again.

This game is clearly not for you, Just do your self a favor, unsub, and move on.

Dererk here is the thing you are playing an MMORPG, if you wanted to solo some open world content you could always play skyrim or the witcher...

I never said I want a solo game I mean really it took a full party to kill one bug to progress in the game.

I like doing the end game stuff here its so much more accessible here than in ffxi and gawd the leveling in it was so boaring and slow a full party to kill one lizard to get 500 exp really you liked that.

There is open world content that's not possible to solo.
    It's called A and S rank Hunts.

The average player WON'T just sit there and wait for someone to randomly help him clear a random quest needed for story progression. They also won't go around asking for this help. They will just get completely fed with such gates, and will quit the game.

As for your WoW argument: This game in its core has little to do with WoW. It's highly story based, WoW has no main story. You HAVE TO do dungeons, in WoW you don't. Etc.
The only thing common with WoW is the vertical progression...

You're right, the gear progression is the same in 2.0 just looks / iLV are different. That's just the general way of the game. I've never knew there was joy in fate grinding lol.

Some people, including myself, are just not use to this. I'm more use to weekly raids and hoping for something to drop a piece of what I need to combine it with another to a NPC to get one item. That's just not the mentality of this game. It's not so much about getting that gear but enjoying the content.

I personally feel everyone is wrong in fate grinding. This is why we're getting "This job..is soooo horrible!" people forgot that as you level up your skill set but player skill levels up too. Some people just aren't as natural in finding rotations as they thought they were. This game doesn't require a lot of time to accomplish things unless you want to accomplish everything. I can get on, play for a few hours maybe take a day or two off and come back.

You're right to want your enjoyment, just that this game offers things differently which is why I enjoy it but others don't. You're here for the beauty, challenge the content and just relax..enjoy yourself. Unless enjoying means constantly running things or grinding like other or older MMO's.

From the way it sounds, this doesn't sound like the game for you. Which is fine, my friend tried it and he couldn't stand it because he felt alone in the world. He was far behind us and he wanted us to come watch him play a quest while talking to him on TS. We would talk to him but we wouldn't sit there watching him play a lv25 quest, we would join I when he had to fight something like dungeons but at 50 we had no desire to play low level dungeons repeatedly. He again felt like he was playing by himself with a bit of interaction and has since left. If you feel the same way, then it might not be for you.

A lot of things in FFXI were wonderful, and for me a lot of the content never felt like it was done over again. I think they're going in the right direction and will eventually get there. Having trash mobs with boss like mechanics is one of those things that I believe they should implement more of.

    FATE are for lazy ppl.

grinding dungeons to 60 is a lot more entertaining.

gear farming is not the core content of the game. you need to get better gears for your character to be strong enough to do all the challenging content such as raids.

It's all lazy work but it seems to please (supposedly) many players.
Every MMO I've played brings new types of content when an expansion comes out, not just rehashed content. And FFXI, to talk about the same franchise, is far far ahead from FFXIV regarding quality and creativeness.
Yoshida is a pro at making us think that they work like crazy and it's funny to see all those people who believe everything he says.
One simple example, he said not too long ago that it took them a year to create one job. A year. Take a look at the three new jobs that came with the expansion, then laugh.
Basically, the only new types of "content" in Heavensward are collectibles, flying and company workshops, that's it. The rest of it is 2.0 all over again with different names and areas, there is absolutely nothing new.
Hell even most of the new monsters are directly stolen from other FF (particularly FFXI), and all the new monsters designed for FFXIV look absolutely terrible.

So where is the work ? What are we paying them for ? There is a cash shop, paid retainers, super-expensive collector editions with cheap plastic items in them, they've been taking FFXI subs for many years to create this game and still do.
Why are the content and the creation so lazy ?

I think for the most part you were paying them to try to keep this game up and running. 2.0 was taking the 1.0 that burned in the oven and try to make it taste good. Now they have that system and are running with it. 3.0 I feel is more along the lines of what they want. I think part of the problem is they're trying to push too much out, but they were in a rush to get everyone away from 1.0 so bad.

They are learning to create more challenging content with environment interaction. There's always going to be a dance to it but they're just trying to figure it out and create something new. I believe they were drowning and now they're starting to get back up. We're going to see weekly lockouts because that's what makes someone come back time. Imagine if we could do Dynamis in FFXI whenever we wanted, I have no idea how it is now.

Remember also that there's someone there who has money or a high title who could easily go "We need this done..now" this rushes things, or they stomp on an idea hard working development teams are trying to push through and need to do it again. There are so many levels, not just from the technical side but from the business side. They don't interact well with each other, it is mortal kombat. That's how I see it when we have weekly meetings with on site techs, development, networking and business management. I picture the original movie where Scorpion and Sub Zero walking through the door on the ship and hear "Test your might..." "This is not in the budget!" "FINISH HIM!!"

But you're right on some things, there can be things that should be taken more time on and maybe push back a patch a few months to bring things out that take a bit of TLC and can come out not just beautiful in the image of it but also in the content it gives. Maybe they're trying to please too many people?

Eventually Yoshida might be the downfall fo this when its milked to a level where it cant be milked no more. Its clear that more and more people are waking up FFXI gamers or not. Only ones who appreciate it seems to be the ones who wanted a temporary break from WoW. Again like i said before its a business so money wins. Too bad that all the recycling SE loves to do they didnt recycle the good stuff from FFXI.
