Welcome to (most) MMOs. Surprise, surprise, Heavensward is more of FFXIV. Were you expecting Final Fantasy XV? That's a different game.

If you don't like it, you're free to leave. There's the door; don't let it hit you on the way out.

Your complaint boils down to "There's not enough to do" when you aren't even doing a large part of everything there is available to you.

It's not a shortcoming of the game if you aren't interested in doing everything it offers, and it doesn't mean there's a lack of content either.

CoP itself took months to be completed through several patch updates. It wasn't all released in one chunk. Heavensward had a story from start to finish with the launch of the expansion. The only reason Zilart even had something similar was because the North American launch was months after the JP release. Dynamis, Limbus, etc were also added, but again through several patches.

Yeah a few months but not 2yrs like Luvbunny is suggesting and HW story hasn't finished it just the beginning of the story as there was a cliffhanger at the end (not being specific as some may not have completed it yet)

I'm done with this topic as there seems be too many ppl on it that do not know how to read previous posts before replying and only read the last reply on the last page pointless discussion.

Where we are right now on endgame is pretty much on par to where we are with 2.0 at launch. 5 dungeons for XP, 3 dungeons for Law Tome, 3 Trials, 2 Extreme Primals, and 4 Floors of normal raid. And soon, 4 floors of Alexander Savage. That's quite a lot of contents to chew, considering if you add the 2.0-2.55 stuffs that you can do still (granted not NEW stuffs). So what is the problem here? Why we still have to do 2.0 contents again? That endgame 3.0 seems to not have that many dungeons variety, with only 3?

Let's say general normal players will take 2 weeks to complete content and have one job at 60. Probably another week to have full set of 170 (420 law tomes a day just doing daily roulette that gives it), as well as having at least a few pieces of those 180 by doing daily hunt marks in the last two weeks alone. Maybe 3-4 weeks with doing weekly limit for Alexander Normal. By month three, they should have one job at 60 with full gears 170-190. Probably another job or two at 60 that they are in the process of gearing. As well as attempting Alexander Savage and learning their mistakes, doing it again over and over. And we are not counting crafting and gathering.

It's pretty much more of the same of what we have been doing in 2.0, which is simplified to level jobs to max, grind "theme park dungeon rides" for gears. Playing dress up and being cute, socializing and create FC drama rama. Rinse and repeat. 3.0 is not game changing ball busters expansion, and you probably get tired of it by end of month two if you keep raiding hardcore. Again, FF14 is great if you play in moderation. Come back when a patch is released, play 1-2 months, take 2-3 months off, come back again when a patch is released. SE seems totally fine with on/off subscribers and quite aware of this.

In any thread, I've always loved the "If you don't like it, just leave/quit" Including the cliche "Don't let the door hit you on the way out"

    Yes, very meaningful.

With that said, this is how expansions in MMOs are, in regards to "gear", Yes you will grind for new and better gear AGAIN. However, I do agree with some folks that the Expansion could have been...better, improved upon 2.0, or more engaging.

I'm a french player and it is quite funny to see that in the french forums, no one is complaining about Heavensward, the 2.0 feel of it and so on. I was even thinking I was the only one who felt that way.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, I finally decided to quit FFXIV. I paid for Heavensward with the idea in mind that it would the "patch" of the last chance, I had expectations and hope for the future, I thought that the expansion would be the perfect time to add some real new things and update others. And where did we end ? In a situation where some parts of the game are even worst than before and the rest is just the same. Nothing really changed. It's really as if I was playing 2.0 once again but with a flying mount.

Even if I liked pretty much the main story, when I reached the post-main story content and saw that my game time would be token farm again and again, playing like a robot just to get new stuff, I made my decision. Like someone said earlier, maybe I will be back in a future patch and play for a month, and so on...

Meanwhile, I gave a chance to Elder Scrolls Online and did not regret it, this game is quite impressive in some ways and, in my opinion, there are a lot of things far better than in FFXIV. I started to think that if FFXIV was not "Final Fantasy" it would have failed in such an awful way... it's just good because of the Final Fantasy vibes in it and the Final Fantasy fan service. Except that, the game is not that great. So I understand players who want to stop. Sure you can come back in a few months, you can play another games or another MMOs and see that grass is greener on the other side

How long have you been playing Elder Scrolls Online becuase after a month of that game you will be crawling back to this game. If Final Fantasy XIV was not Final Fantasy it will still be doing well. Sort of like how the piece of crap Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 bombed eventhough it played up to the Final Fantasy fan service. Reality check Final Fantasy XIV suceeded because they made a high quality MMO and the developers are in it for the long haul while other MMO's like ESO becuase of developer greed and wantting to make a quick dollar are in it to milk consumers.
