Except we get Esoterics then, too. Trend so far is that the second week is when you get enough Tomes for the chest or legs. By the time Esoterics come out, you can already have legs, and you'd be getting enough tomes for chest the same day you can get enough tokens for chest.

This was my biggest disappointment with the token system. I was excited until I saw they mashed 2 different systems into one. RNG is still just horrible, except now when RNG favors you you don't even get the item, you get 1 token to be able to buy the item at some point.

There should have been only 2 token types for Alexander, main piece tokens and accessory tokens. As it is, I feel discouraged to do Alex now for gear, since I know it'll just be a big long grind to hope the token I need drops, then hope I win it over 7 others.

I dont understand how this system is worse RNG than the old system.

You have a chance to win every single time something drops.

Old system was you had a chance to see a drop you needed, and then roll against other people.
You have more chances to win tokens now then you ever had with the old system.

You could run Floor 1 200 times and never see the drop you need.
At least with this, you are rolling 200 times. Odds are you will get something.

I think a casual won't feel the need to have all the Alexander gear ASAP, and of course won't have the play time needed to get it. The player that needs all the best gear as soon as possible is not casual, and they probably will grind and get the gear before Alexander Savage is launched so that they can go in as best geared as possible.

Most players (that started in the early acces time) in a few weeks will likely still have some ilvl170, some ilvl180 and hopefully a bit of ilvl190 gear.

I'm a frustrated owner of 1/2 a hat, 1/4 of a pant and chest, but then I do recall running ST 30 times and failing to get one of four pieces that I needed....

Once I tried Alexander (not all floors yet), and all in the PF party had the loot except another one and myself : ), my first thought is that just now, the best would be to try and get the 4 loots each week. But...I don't like the sensation of making this a chore I have to do. Let's see how easy it is to get the 4 loots. I hope not too much, and since we don't have any tomes to cap now, we have more time.
When tomes of esoterics come, things will change.

On the other hand, as somebody commented, this is a good time to do Alexander in Duty Finder, since, until other things appear, most veteran players will be trying to get the loot in Alexander. And some of them will go to Duty Finder. Steps of Faith wasn't so hard the first few days. Later most people wouldn't repeat it and it became more and more difficult to win in Duty Finder until they nerfed it.
