I hope they'll do something... AST seems to be so inconvenient in a raid group in progression... :/
FIX THIS JOB... you have something great... don't let it go to waste!
I mained a PLD in 2.0 and I switched to AST for the expansion because the class looked like so much fun.
Fun is all it is. It is not usable in end game content. The card system needs work and it needs balancing. There are plenty of ideas in the healer forum. Please read them over. I would love to use this class.
I mained WHM until Heavensward, and switched because when you read about AST, they sounded like they would be great. They have the potential to be great. However, sub-par heals and shields, as well as the cards needing rebalancing keeps this class from being as great as it could be. It just can't keep up.
Maybe, just maybe, a passive aggressive thread with a seemingly pleasant thread title isn't the best way to lodge a complaint.
I hoped in this new hotfixes..... But still nothing. Why SE seems deaf to our complains...
Give them sometime guys.... It's still too early. Not like adjusting a class is as easy as flipping a switch
Astro is quit good right now. There is nothing they can do to fix bad players !

IMO AST and DRK both share a similar design problem.
Their concepts are unique - Magic Tank & CARD DRAW healer..
But unlike other JOBs where those unique aspects add to their core (NIN having NINJITSU over a solid ROGUE core) - But for DRK and AST - their unique aspect work as restrictions and resource consumption. AST you have to CARD DRAW to get to the abilities (inferior to SCH/WHM) you want, DRK you have to MP manage to access abilities of slightly inferior effect of a PLD/WAR.
My issue isn't how or where these jobs fall in a party config hierarchy, it's:
^This is where I think they fall short. A WHM/SCH hybrid requiring CARD DRAWs to juggle Spell access.. and a PLD/WAR hybrid that has DARKNESS serving as a Limitation to which form they imitate.
I'd like to see less imitation and more unique gameplay for these 2 jobs.
And yea the Hotfix was surprising short
