(I hope at some point to add the ability to specify a set of available airship parts, since very few FCs are going to have four of every part. Alternatively, I may wander off and forget I made this. The future is mysterious and unwritten!)

This is going to be really nice in the future if they ever raise the capacity cap for airships

Firstly, congratulations! Also, no one's blaming you I'm sorry I haven't had time to update them either. Thinking out loud here, depending on what we're trying to do with the spreadsheet it might be smart to denote the date on entries of 3.1 entries vs 3.0. It seems like they changed where a lot of things drop from in the latest patch; they might have also changed some of their formulas and using data from 3.0 might mess up analyses.

I have a feeling it can unlock from any of the rank 50 sectors.

I believe this is probably the case.
I'm sure the undiscovered sector 23 is Diadem, and sectors 21 and 22 are closest in proximity to it, so that makes sense.
As per the below image though, it would seem even more likely that 17 would discover it rather than sector 20, which is further away.
Also because of it's greater distance, sector 19 would seem unlikely to discover it, but possibly for the sake of having all level 50 sectors able to discover the area, they may have included it also.

With any luck, some people will be able to post evidence of the remaining 2 level 50 sectors unlocking the zone.




On a side note, it would reasonably make sense that sector 16 would be in the area to discover the Diadem, however being under the required airship level to actually visit the zone, it seems less likely that it would be discoverable.

I am at 10-12 voyages without unlocking now, I have tried virtually every combonation for zones 16, 17, 20, 21, 22 as my trips. RNG sucks, SE sucks, It's like the 4 months we spent on making max tier airships was pointless when you could have the lowest possible ship with 90 survey doing the same thing. There is little point in the loot as most of it can be bought faster in Diadem with the currency outside of the minion/housing mats but the market board has already been flooded with all of those items pre-3.1 launch.

On a side note, the only thing I have not tested is the actual parts on my ship. I have all the ships at 59+ component setup but not all ships have a Tatanora part on it, could this be part of unlocking Diadem? Having at least 1 tatanora part on a ship?

Possibly in the future put what your ship setup was after unlocking Diadem?

First thing that definitely needed to be included was sorting, and now it's solved! As well as greatly improved overall. Thanks!.

Took my FC 10 trips. 4 solo trips to 22 (failed), 2 solo trips to 21 (failed), 2 trips to 21->22 (failed), 2 trips to 22->21 (unlocked on the second try).

None of my ships have tatanora parts. The one that unlocked it has an Enterprise Hull, Invincible Propellers, Odyssey forecastle, & Odyssey aftcastle.

For the sake of data this is the 6th time my ship has come back from 21 > 22 and still no Diadem hardmode. This ship does has a tatanora piece and has since it hit 50 months before the Diadem came out. I had another ship with a tatanora pice do 17 - 18, and nothing.

We have 4 airships rank 50. One ship has Tantanora body and forecastle on it and takes literally 5 1/2 days to go out and come back if we send it to sectors 18-22. We just did that and no unlock for diadem hard mode and it brought back junk as well (so much for that huge boost to favor and survey). Been sending the other 2 airships to 6 10 13 for chance at motes and potter stones and still nothing as well just 2 items per trip. Crystals and junk items that are no value/use (resin/clay/empty crystals). This dang RNG crap is holding up the entire workshop progress and there's only a small few stages left to do, can't buy the mats either cuz they are beyond overpriced on MB atm as well. It wouldn't be so bad if the trips didn't range from 17-32+ hours in hopes at a RNG chance at obtain an item you need. May have to start using the 1 airship saved for Diadem runs to farm as well to increase the odds.
