Just got our first spoil after finally discovering the island last Friday.
Ship parts are Enterprise Hull, Invincible Proprellers, Odyssey Aft & Fore (Surveillance 110 // Retrieval 122 // Speed 68 // Range 94 // Favor 118).
Hey there! I've had 2 ships outfitted with Invincible - Tata - Tata - Bronco, and so far we're at 3 Iron Voyage Spoils and 3 Tier V Vitality Materia. I just refitted one of them to Bronco - Tata - Tata - Invincible because I determined the extra Range wasn't giving me access to any other sector I had interest in. The two most recent logs both have the note "extremely disappointing extraction yield" on both of the items they brought back - 27 HQ Dark Chestnut Branch + 1x Vitality V, and 1x Iron Voyage Spoil + 1x Vitality V.
Clearly, I need to meld this Vit to my Mammet so he can carry more back.
My naive presumption was that Favor could impact the likelihood of receiving the rarer items, hence my choice to build like that.

So far, this, very much. Materia is super rare for me now. I've sent three of our airships on non-stop voyages to 13-17 since patch, and I've only had two bring back materia - III on one, IV on the other. I keep thinking RNG, but still...Anyone else getting far less stuff back from their airships?
I used to get decent amount of dravanian motes and a ton of IV materia prior to the patch.
Since the patch I've only gotten a set of tier 3 gatherer materia (4), and the rest of the runs minus one return of two dinosaur fossils have only brought back the super common materials.

I'm surprised at how few items are in 23 and 24 compared to the other sectors. It's a good thing though when most of them are really valuable - only the tier 3 materia is a junk drop, unless there's zero demand for INT IV or V materia (I haven't checked). I expect the supply of VIT V and Savage Aim V to shoot up due to people spamming 24 for the Zu Horn. I can't imagine the value dropping much though for Savage Aim V... Crit is like the highest weighted stat for almost every class in 3.0, isn't it?

Ah, right, that makes sense. Still, it feels like there are way fewer eye-roll drops in SC23-SC24. Probably because the drop rate was so high for Dusk Leather in SC17-SC22, and for schematic mats in SC01-SC16, and those are all totally useless once you have enough. And, SC01-SC16 dropped crystals quite often. Having all of that out of the drop pool looks like it really helps!

Somewhat tangential but I just got an antique rug from a wyvernskin treasure map, which surprised me because correct me if I'm wrong but weren't all the previous special crafting mats the airships brought back initially exclusive to them?

Not all, Wind Silk and Dinosaur Leather were added to both airships and Diadem at the same time.
