My FC is doing Tatanora hull, Odyssey forecastle, Enterprise rigging, and Bronco aftcastle. It hits the 61 capacity limit exactly.Max rank is 50, max airframe capacity is 61, Odyssey parts take 26 airframe capacity each. Have not unlocked the final airship type yet, but if it follows the pattern, it will take 31. That means, only one part of the final airship type can be used, and that at most only two Odyssey parts can be used.

Your retrieval must be as horrible as ours was. You changed it like this for exploration or testing purposes?
But yeah, Tatanora require 26 capacity, Odyssey only 21.
Sidenote~
The ideal part compositions are:
-Tatanora/Odyssey/Enterprise/Bronco
-Tatanora/Tatanora/Invincible/Bronco
-Tatanora/Invincible II/Invincible II/Bronco
Note that if you choose to equip a Tatanora Aftcastle, the Forecastle must be atleast Invincible II as well. (to be able to visit sectors 17+ )

Exploration purposes. We hit 50 while still missing a lot of sectors.Your retrieval must be as horrible as ours was. You changed it like this for exploration or testing purposes?

Aha, same as ours then. We only had up to 11 on hitting 50 >.<
I think that goes for all materials. First and second item arent as much different ''types of items'', but rather 2 rolls for an item. Don't quote me on that tho.

As far as the grade (were you refering to the individual sector rating or the letter grade?) being affected by the bonus exp, it seems kind of independent from the exp gain if the latest voyage from one of our ships is any indication. Of the three sectors visited, there were 2 abysmal ratings and 1 satisfactory, but it still resulted in an S-rating (perhaps sector difficulty plays a factor?): http://imgur.com/utyWpvY (blocking the name because it was named as an inside joke and may be considered inappropriate to some)And as we already confirmed the grade of a voyage is based on retrieval levels.
Something like this if I remember it correctly:
retrieval levels -> bonus exp -> rating. Basically, the most bonus exp the higher your overall rating. And bonus exp is earned from retrieval levels.
[parts reference: Bronco / Invincible / Invincible / Enterprise]
And yet another airship went on a one-sector trip, recieved a satisfactory rating, and got an A-rank: http://imgur.com/Zvj5OqB (it also discovered sector 21 without it being displayed in the log ...! guess they still haven't fixed that)
[parts reference: Bronco / Invincible / Tatanora / Tatanora]
Meanwhile, our 4th ship recieved 1 satisfactory and 1 abysmal, and recieved a C rating:

[parts reference: Bronco / Invincible / Bronco / Invincible]
I can say for sure that the percentage of satisfactory ratings plays no part in your overall rating, and may have something more along the lines of a weighted rating based on the difficulty of the sectors with respect to your either your ship's rank or stats

Individual. Altho before it seemed that overall would simply be effected by the amount of bonus exp you got. IE: bonus exp near to base exp = S rank. No bonus exp = C rank. While overall it seems like it has ''some'' relation, theres these weird voyages where you get an A or B and have no bonus at all.
Hmm. Very low retrieval definately seems to effect (sector) rating badly, but it doesnt seem like very high retrieval gives any guarantee of high sector rating.
