I know this question is probably somewhere in the 145 pages of this forum but, does anyone know a good build for farming dusk leather? I just can't seem to get much of it. I think we have gotten one piece in 2 months.

According to https://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Dusk_Leather there are 6 sectors where it drops.
Page 1, Nyalia's post, Endgame Ship Designs, The Frugal Flier - Maximum Retrieval, moderately high Survey and Range, minimum Speed should be your best bet but look at them all.

Just thought I'd share this little upgrade I did to the original airship part calculator on the first page. Been toying with airships again cuz subs were getting boring, and I couldn't find anything online that included the Viltgance parts, so I just added their data to the calculator myself!

Note: This is exactly the same calculator as the first one, I don't claim any of the original code or anything, I just added the Viltgance data to the internal data array and changed the title to reflect that, nothing else. Enjoy!
I'm bringing this thread back from the dead cause I am having difficulty finding a proper item guide for voyages. Do you guys have anything for this? I am scouring this thread and I can only see like stuff said in threads and that's it. I just want to get the craftable stuff for clothes and whatnot, uggh why can't the guide have everything for items like the submersible one.
If I am missing something i will gladly take any form of assistance.
What specific information are you looking for that is missing? The FFXIV Submarine Builders Discord also has some links to airship information as well as all the submersible info if you want to give that a try.

I'm sure it's been asked (again, this is a very long thread), but do stats have anything to do with unlocking sectors, or is it all RNG?
Our FC is trying to unlock sector 24 to start farming Zu mounts. We've got two rank 50 airships - one has a Monster Hunter build, one has a Mostly Invincible build. I keep sending them to sector 21 with no unlock yet. Do we just need to be patient?
As a personal aside, I find it somewhat disappointing that airships haven't seen any new content since Heavensward, yet SE has kept the submersibles updated through two expansions now. I suppose that might have to do with the fact that the Diadem was so poorly received that the zone was completely repurposed. But instead of improving and expanding on airship content, it feels just a little like they got swept under the rug to help us forget about how disappointing the Diadem was. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful that submersibles continue to see updates and are still relevant. But I know that I'll soon reach a point where our airships will be maxed in upgrades and no longer serve any purpose other than to farm Zu mounts, Iron Dwarf minion parts, and two orchestrion rolls. It's a lot of time and resources put into content that reaches end of life more quickly than I would have liked.
Maybe we'll get to upgrade airships for space travel and send them to the moon in Endwalker.![]()

There is a lot of RNG involved. I think that was the Sector that took me about 6 weeks to unlock for my FC but over 3 months to unlock when I was helping a friend's FC with their workshop. I don't know if the community ever managed to determine if any of the stats have a specific influence on sector discovery beyond the minimum Surveillance needed. I've seem some suggest it's influenced by Favor just like loot double-dips and others swear it's Retrieval. Or it could be none at all.
All I can say is keep trying.
Submersibles are the new "airship" content. They should be considered as the same thing (exploration voyage content or whatever term you want to use). That's why the limit on vessels is shared between the two. Since we know there's going to be another floating island zone in Endwalker, SE might choose to move back to expanding airships instead of subs next expansion. And who knows? Maybe the last upgrade will get them to the moon as you suggest.
