some weird stuff with LTW

i'm mustn't be the only one that wonder why the LTW need some "Coerthan Tea Leaves" from rare node for the 2 first leather. i means we already need to kill monster for hope get skin (3 are needed for 1 leather) but now, not enough to make us depend of the BTN when it was MIN before the expansion...
we end to need component from 1 per hours node.

i can understand for high level craft, but leveling LTW become a chores because of this....

And 3 skins for 1 leather is harsh.
Add that to Coerthan Tea Leaves gated botanist gathering, and well...I won't be melding my post-50 LTW gear anytime soon.
(*Just* found out after looking for hours that Coerthan Tea Leaves were rare node, stuff that I don't usually do on BTN as I'm not hardcore...)

Yes, Alumen and Black Alumen are mined. Shroud Tea Leaves are from Unspoiled Nodes for botany.

Right, because NONE of the other crafters have to use materials from botany, mining, and hunting.

I just don't remember leveling my leatherworker to 50 and having to go "Oh my, I can't level past 42 until I learn to farm unspoiled nodes from my level 50 geared Botanist" (which wouldn't work, as the gear made for the 50 botanist is from leatherworker... see where I'm getting?). *shrug* Might just be me, just I clearly recall leveling leatherworking with materials gathered from killing the beasts and gathering their skins, then mining the alumen needed for tanning the skins. Star recipees were way after that.

Now we can't do post 50 unless you farm/camp the unspoiled nodes with your botanist. It *is* a change from the previous leveling. It wouldn't be a change if it involved horizontal progression, but this is vertical progression.

those tea leaves are from a level 51 node in the first area, not exactly hard to get, also you can get 30nq an hr.

and yes saurian leather used tea leaves too.

I agree the 3 skins needed for leathers is steep though, but so is all the material cost for everything in xpac.

Seems they have noticed how unfair this is. You can buy the coerthan tealeaves from ingame merchant in Jeweled Grozier, price was somewhere between 1k and 2k I think. Still a reach I admit, but you can gather something else, sell it in market and buy the time gated ones.

Saurian leather is an extremely bad example, as it was a 3* craft. 3* items were not produced in bulk as leveling 51-59 items are.
