New Map: How about a 8v8 multi-encounter path design with mobs for score?

Coming from Aion(best PvP MMO hands down), this PvP map is pretty much 80% of the reason I played that game so much. (Literally they had this same map for like 4 years and it's still popular among players even after they had new pvp maps)

2 teams, symmetric map, (starting from the left side of the map, "escape hatches"), multiple pre-climax close-quarter encounter and climax counter(captain's cabin) with mobs and points placed in the map, and special devices to unlock teleport, extra point mob spawn mid fight, etc.

This is where tactics, positioning, prioritization, damage focus, control and formation of the group really start to matter

With strong mobs defending the score device:

You get score from killing mobs, devices and player. Or you can sneak up to the captain and kill it to finish the match (and win if you have the higher point upon killing the captain which rewards some point)

Here's a video of a decent match I found on youtube:

In case you don't want to see the whole thing (which I sugges you do)
-First encounter at 3:46, it was meh
-Really good part is the 2nd encounter/climax at around 10:30

Personally, the magical part is that you spend a lot of time pre-encounter killing mobs building up base scores & tensions, and that makes the encounter SUPER exicting and nerve wracking, ESPECIALLY the first few seconds before 2 parties clash. The flow you go through in this dungeon is something like: Low-high-low-high-random-random-climax. Which by the way is AMAZING.

Not exactly to encourage a copy, but the multiple encounter narrow path idea and mob and climax encounter really would spice things up a bunch.
    What do you guys think?

This looks amazing, I 100% support a map like this. It looks pretty interesting and also offers 8v8, which was my favorite part of frontlines secure!

Ah, Aion... A nice game indeed.. Would like to know if all the Asmodians still know my name..

Anyway. Compared to EVE, the PvP in Aion is nothing but child's play.

Yes please. It'd be awesome to see something like this come to pass.

I believe Aion's PvPvE approach would be great for FF14 moreso than it was for Aion as FF14 is naturally PvE oriented. PvP in FF14 feels like an afterthought, while in Aion it was pretty much the opposite, with PvE feeling like an add-on to a PvP game. FF14 would shine in the PvPvE area, since it is already mechanically brilliant from a PvE standpoint and PvP is dynamic and intense in and of itself. A PvPvE environment akin to the Dredgion would make for a very refreshing experience. In Aion, it almost felt like the mobs were in the way, as most Aion PvE was tank and spank. In Aion's Dredgion, you had to plan, but plans mainly revolved around PvP encounters as players rushed through PvE for points. We rarely ever had to plan for PvE. It was always burn mobs down, secure points, and move on to fighting the other team (or avoid them completely).

SE could change that and make the Dredgion into something even more amazing.

Yeah, we definitely need something like this. Atleast in my eyes Slaughter was a fiasco..

Nty. PvP would do fine without mobs. A simple 8v8 is all real PvPers need. Simple and to the point. Outplay the other team with your own team.

We're supposed to get that with a Wolf's Den expansion. And hopefully not in some way where they throw a wrench into the works and ruin it where the queues suck really bad. If there is only one version of 8 person WD released and it doesn't allow party members to choose what class to participate in after arrival and prior to match, I'll be disappointed... there's merits to a system where party makeup is predefined to the same ratio on each team of course, I just think they should give us the option to queue for a match type that's open, as well as the option to queue for one that is balanced on both sides.

That said, Frontlines is meant to be more dynamic than just an 8v8 encounter, so the OP has a fully legit proposal for that reason. We're just used to the fact that the only way to have 8v8 is in a Frontlines mode that has a lot of BS tacked onto it at the moment with Slaughter, but hopefully a new 8 v 8 WD mode when we get it will leave room for more variety in FL than 'stack at mid'.
