    Suggestion: Unlock Race Starter Gear

I was originally going to add this to my More Facial Feature Options, Please thread but thought it didn't fit.

I suggest that SE unlock the race lock on the starter gear.
    Why?
    Well...Why not?!
We live in a world where everyone can equip any piece of armor they find in the middle of a cave/ruin/haunted mansion/Elezen Fort/etc., even after they magically change their race and biological gender. Not to mention, each piece is unique yet simple, easily able to go with almost any glamour.

Eh, please don't. I think it's nice to have SOMETHING be race-specific, since practically nothing is.

I loved the elezen starter and hempen gear when I was elezen, but I gave that up when I changed. I hate the au ra hempen gear, but I still don't want to demand other races'.

Some uniqueness is nice, let's keep it.

    They never say.
It's weird considering each City-State has at least one vender that sells them.

But think about how nice it would be if you could wear that Elezen Starter outfit.
Now think about how nice it would be if you got bored of the Elezen Starter outfit and decided Lalafell was where it's truly at. Or Roegadyn. Miqo'te? Maybe Hyur?
Not to mention all the lovely pieces, individually.

I think it's nicer that races get something unique, even if it's only a couple of outfits.

Uniqueness is in the character you make. Clothes of all things shouldn't be locked. More options is never bad as far as purely aesthetic concerns go.

Ummmmmmm....no. Unlock the gender restrictions? Yes. Make them dyeable? Yes. Heck, make the different-for-each-race-but-only-one-actual-item underpants and undershirt designs separately buyable and not race-restricted. But the actual racial starter outfit? No. Even if we don't know their stories yet, they are racial for reasons. That and the job AFs are the two things that make sense to be restricted. All the rest though - yeah, just remove the locks altogether.

I agree with Seida. I apprciate it when our choices have some meaning. I wish our races, jobs, and grand companies had even more that was unique to them.
