So I don't seem to be hitting the numbers you guys are claiming

I was running A3 the other day and we had a party member parsing. I was i178 at the time and my best run was 733 dps with no food or potions. In that particular pug I was always finishing first with higher geared ninjas and I think a sum, maybe bard. I'm new to end game drg so it felt cool to beat ninjas with a better weapon than me but at the same time I've seen claims of 900-1200 on here. Are those claims exaggerated or are those dummy numbers?

900+ is very possible in A3 but 1200 sounds exaggerated, thats dummy DPS and A3 isn't exactly a dummy fight.
Those numbers are mostlikely pulled from merged parses where the downtime isn't taken into account.

Thats not really a glitch, when the boss hits 35% he will go into his final phase no matter what but even then 1200 DPS is unlikely because one tornado phase will be there for sure and this kicks everyone down a notch.

Not a glitch. It just means you have actually good dps players.

I felt like I kept botd up best as possible with all the invulnerable phase changes and quick dying adds. With mechanics I was getting gersgkougulufykl off 2-3 times per minute. I don't really know what I could have done differently to get another 167 dps. Could it be bc the other dps were in the high 500's? Therefore longer fight w more invulnerable stages.

That's called pushing phases. If you dps doesn't suck it's easy to do.

If you're beating the encounter, and you know you're carrying your weight, that's all that really matters. And those higher numbers were probably obtained with both food and potions, not to mention potential party buffs like selene/astrologian skill speed increase, trick attack, etc.

They are percentage based. I've actually seen a DF group transition into P2 at 92%. Made me cry a little inside.
