Mudra lag and macros?

Do not use macros. As mentioned you only get whole seconds, but more importantly macros are incapable of "action queuing". Right now when you are in a GCD, if you hit a skill, the game will queue the action to activate as soon as that GCD timer completes.

What this means is that a person using macros vs. someone who isn't will eventually get behind in their rotation and they will do less DPS overall.

More to your point, you will be using your mudras slower than a non-macroing NIN.

About mudra lag. I don't know what your connection is like, but personally I feel the mudra lag (though it exists) is blown a little out of proportion. I have a good connection and never have issues with mine, but I also don't try to input my signs stupidly quick. There is a delay due to the animation as well. The easiest way is to get the 1-2-3 timing down in your head. Figure out what "beat" works for you and your connection speed and practice that. TIP: If your connection is truly horribly, using Shuriken toss over Raiton will be a DPS increase.
