He's not wrong, players parser aren't very accurate right now.
Yes, yes and yes. Turret is merged into our numbers and wildfire is being included as well. Rook turret is listed as "Volley Fire" and Bishop is listed as "Aether Mortar", while wildfire is listed as a simulated DoT.
Again, Machinist has good burst, and on paper it seems sound. But wildfire gets its defense calculated twice (one for the culmative damage, second time for the actual wildfire explosion). Then there's the matter of GB having very little impact on damage even in ideal circumstances.
The 3:30 number is inflated because that's right after a wildfire explosion. Not to mention most people would say this is cherry picked anyway because all the crits (especially ricochet) aligning on wildfire at the 3:33 mark in the video. Even the voice recording suggests that. The video is an extreme outlier and I wouldn't consider it an average.

This is the post put through Google Translate: " Yoshida : (laughs ) We heard that many players believe the DPS machinist is rather low , however we did testing by the development team and the machinist job can make very big damage. I am sure that many players use this software to measure their DPS , but it is possible that the software is not updated or that the rotation of skills used by the development team and the players is different . so we try to now to discover where the problem or bug problem and if there really has , of course we will correct it . But we 're not yet at this stage, we just try to search and analyze why this happens."
So the answer here is that our rotation is wrong?! Are you kidding me? If thats the case then let us see this awesome dps rotation thats "making big damage." What a joke.

Shhh! Let them flip out and get dramatic over an interview translated from japanese to french to english poorly...
QUICK DEVS, IMMEDIATLY MAKE CHANGES TO A CLASS WITHOU HAVING ANY TESTING TIME AND NOT EVEN HAVING THEM OUT LONG ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE TO GET A REALLY GOOD FEEL FOR THEM!
Don't sit back and analyze it and then make more informed changes, we all know the former method works perfectly every time.

That's easy for you to say as someone who is a level 60 WHM, meanwhile I have many friends who are MCH mains who are going to be outright excluded from Alexander tomorrow.
That is a concern and something to be worried about.
There are already people being kicked/not allowed into Ravana/Bismark EX groups. This will be the same if not WORSE for Alexander that is supposedly as difficult as a coil

No its easy for me to say as someone who is not a fan of seeing devs have a knee jerk reaction to every qq thread on the forums. I watched that destroy DCUO. While it is evident that MCH needs some attention, reviewing it properly and then making the appropriate changes is the best way to go about it. The devs here are pretty good at having balanced classes, let them do their thing. That's easy for you to say as someone who is a level 60 WHM, meanwhile I have many friends who are MCH mains who are going to be outright excluded from Alexander tomorrow.

It not like people on video game forums are known to be overly dramatic or anything, right.

Well, as a fellow "person who does not use parsers"... here's a nice simple solution.
There is an addon for ACT which allows you to see the enmity values for a target. Google ACT Enmity Addon.
Damage generated enmity at a 1:1 ratio. So if you know the time you were in combat, and you know the enmity you generated on the target, you know your exact ST dps.
Even if ACT cant calculate your dps correct, the game does calculate your enmity correctly. So as long as you do not use any enmity reducing abilities, this provides a highly accurate dps value.
yeah sure every dummy pars is not the average, maybe the drg, mnk etc. parses are aswell cherry picked with a lot crits? just because they are the old jobs no one cares enough :P if you listen he also mentions that he got very bad procs at the start
