I don't think it's wrong expecting commendations based on your performance. Recognition is one of human's basic needs. I'm sure there must be an urge in your heart to get some recognition at least even a little when you outperform others.

    it is completely wrong.

commendations aren't based on anything but a person opinion.

you can get a com for having a name someone like, for being social. for being all around nice, for being the loldrg dead on the floor like always, for being good at your job.

nominating yourself? who are you kanye?

So apparently I'm the only one commendating the players who did a nice performance?

"I commendate because a DRG goes around with naked glamour, I only commendate DPS, I commendate people who make me laugh, I commendate that DRG who dies in a funny way".

Ok guys, you further prove my point commendations are a farce seeing what kind of criteria you follow when commendating.

Wow, you're really taking this personally and reading into it wrong. ^___^; I try to pay attention to everyone myself.

And once again, try to remember that commendations don't really do anything. I think you're letting your emotions and possible insecurities get in the way of your judgement.

Seems to me like it's working as intended. Nowhere in there does it say I have to give the commendation to the person with the highest parse numbers or the best gear or the most flawless play style.

    Honestly, there's more to a dungeon than having a quick, smooth run. If someone is acting funny, or really sweet (pretty much bringing in an awesome atmosphere) I'll prolly give it to them depending on the circumstances. At the end of the day it's a game, which I play on my free time to have fun. I'd rather have a fun but slow dungeon run, then a quick bore-fest myself. ^__^;

Idunno, I guess it just depends on my mood and how well people stand out in their own way that gives me a positive experience.

Wow... just, wow. Are you even reading these before you post them? The whole point of commendations is to encourage players to be friendly to each other. It doesn't matter that you're some kind of elite DPS ninja or the ultimate white mage as long as you made a good impression on the team.

    Clearly you didn't.

And the fact that you're making posts like this like you're somehow entitled to the commendations, like they're your birthright is only going to discourage more people from commending you in the future. I mean sheesh, take a deep breath, chalk it up to another party and be happy in the knowledge you did your best. Not every single dungeon has to result in you being showered with praise. Even the most fragile of ego's understand that much.

Don't assume things, there are people who simply do not use the commendation feature at all, it doesn't necessarily has to be the case, but it could be. What's more, I don't know how I could possibly cause a bad impression if I always stay chill and never say a word unless it's mandatory (eg. somebody asking for boss mechanics). You guys are picturing me as some sort of elitist who probably spouts all sort of bs when things go wrong, well, thing is, no, I never say anything ingame, ever, because I don't like making people feel bad and after all it's a game. But hey, I have the right to be disappointed when a situation that is not fair in my book arises no?

We're talking about a dungeon run, right? Most likely people took the time to commendate. Those things usually take at least 20-30 minutes, so people generally take the time to stop and commendate. Or at least I think that's the reason.

Idunno, I tend to see people stop for a bit at the teleporter at dungeons before leaving unlike guildheists or trials -- even at end game and the players are clearly over-geared for the place. People just seem to be more mindful to stop and commendate for dungeons even if they have no reason to stand there.

That being said, for someone telling others to not assume things... you assume a lot. Like how apparently we only commendate small, silly little things, or how the only reason you didn't get commendated was because people simply don't care.

I did not assume anything, it's people here actually confirming themselves that they commend because a DRG jumps and dies and they find it funny lol.
People on the other hand, are assuming that I'm a terrible person, I flame and have a horrible attitude ingame because of this thread.
