You sound like a horrible person I would hate to have on my run, I probably wouldn't commend you either.
I just give my commendations to players with good people skills and that can communicate to the party well, I think quite a few other players are the same.
E.g. I ran Dusk Vigil twice yesterday, both times I spoke to the party a little in between pulls and notified them of when I had a good hand saved up and when I would play it. E.g. I've got an AOE Balance card set up, I will pop it 15 seconds after pull so have you CD's ready
Both runs I got all three commendations, there are a lot of good players and yeah they speed up your runs, but the ones who are pleasant and work with you are the ones who make the dungeon fun. That being said I don't always use my commendation, I only give it to players who deserve it or i just don't give it out.
Hi. I'm a healer-attacker. ( I call myself "Yin yang healer" because I have to balance damage and heals, maintain everyone alive and do maximum DPS ).
It's not so easy in raid but extremely easy in most dungeons aaaaaand... I can tell you certain to please don't even expect to get commends with SCH, ( I have been using all healers and DPSing, here's why:
- They don't care about what healers do.
- They don't even notice you're placing dots...
- Tank will notice they're not receiving heals all the damn time, and some tanks get annoyed by it, even if they don't die.
- Most peasants don't even know what deployment tactics is, they just think you're using succor.
- The commendations for the damage will ALWAYS go to DPS, the DPS 1 will think he's awesome and the DPS 2 is as awesome as him, so commend for DPS. DPS 2 will do same with DPS 1. Tank will commend any of the DPS because the dungeon were super quick, so it had to be DPS stuff.
THEY'LL NEVER NOTICE YOU...
True story, I lived it
However with WHM is different because holy is the most visible spell ever made in the world and its sound is very characteristic and the stun in mobs too.... If you DPS with a WHM you tend to get one-two commends or so. If you DPS with dots of a SCH, it's DPS what get them. (Didn't test with AST over 52, only in 50, and it feels the same, most of the useful attacks are dots so....)
Also, take in mind the following groups:
- The 'Stoned'. This is a group of people who only recommend always the same fixed stuff, regardless of who overworked in the dungeon. They are like, (Very wrong in my opinion) this: "If I'm tank, I commend healer, if I'm healer, I commend tank, IF I'm DPS I commend the other DPS"
- The 'Absent'. This group just NEVER EVER give recommendations.
- The 'Elite-raiders' This group rarely gives commend in dungeons, except someone is exceptional, It's funny but it's mostly the only group going to give you commend. A healer doing DPS is a healer overworking and making everything smooth, but, only we experts have sight enough to notice and really appreciate it (Modesty away, just included myself in this group. )
- The 'Friends'. They come together to this dungeon, and they won't commend a 'lucky random' just because is only one they can commend, except if for some reason you were super talkative, or worked very hard, but, again, as a SCH they won't notice your effort.
- The 'Social'. Their commend only depends of if you said hi, goodbye, or used an annoying macro for that, or did some joke, or anything social related, your combat skills matter not.
- The 'Haters'. Like The Absent, only they come forum and ask for addition of 'Negative Commendations' system. Wether some of them have good reasons or not for this is discutible, you can find anything in duty finder and the peasantry level is high. (I'd honestly give more than one negative commendation from time to time).
DO NEVER EXPECT COMMENDS...It's RNG based!... (?) And also, use <link> in every match to show The best gown ever. That annoys them enough to not give you one.
PS: I hope to find more people like you in my duty finders! Since by how you explained, seems you use the scholar exactly as me!... What a fine speedrun we would do, oh yes.
--- TL;DR ---
The simplified whole truth about the commendation system:

A good player could also be a rude player. Just because you played your job correctly doesn't mean everyone is going to commend you. There are many times where I've disconnected mid-duty, or made a mistake but still got commended because I apologised for it, even though the other players did great
Don't expect commendations. Just don't.
Most of the people doesn't seem to care to commend the others at all, everyone just ignore that little window after the boss dies, roll loot and leave. :/
Best way to get commendations is to play tank and not be an slowpoke when pulling mobs. If you can lead your group through any dungeon in the game in sub-25 mins you'll get commendations EZ.
Pretty much this. Most times the boss dies and people rush for the exit. Nobody says "good game" or "thanks for the run" anymore. Everyone's in a huge hurry.
