Commendation performance?

Personally I love giving comms to other bards... unless they play poorly or were rude.
I also give comms to nice people.
Someone just thanked me for helping with a Shiva run where everyone who was new pretty much was dead the whole run... I gave her my comm.

i commendate the healer no matter what because i see it as the toughest most stressful job in the game, especially cos i'm a drg and there always picking me up off the floor :P

I comm people that make me laugh and are good sports. If no one talks, yeah I guess I'll look at how they performed. But do I really care how you performed? Nah. If you were the most badass healer/dpser in the group, but there was a new person there who did well, I'd give that person a comm so they'd know they did great for a first timer.

Unfortunately I often fall into the trap of only giving commendations to healers when the party takes lots of damage and the healer manages to keep us alive and raise quickly. In some cases that is very much justified but in other cases the reason the party gets so low on health might be that the healer isn't paying attention in the first place. In a perfectly smooth run, right or wrong, I tend to give commendation to my fellow DD if the mobs are going down quicker than normal or the tank if they are going down as normal or slower but I never manage to pull hate. It might not be fair to the healer but sine I am focused on my job those are things that I notice and they therefore influence my commendations.

Expecting commendations?

Personnally, I only give my commendation to polite (and/or talkative) people, if you are the only one who said "Hello! " (even /wave is enough for me) and "Thanks for the party!" at the end, you are sure to get my commendation, performance does not matter to me if you were polite Yea, because I am human, not a computer!
