Well if you like the gold magitech mount but honestly I just recently earned it and have no real need to use it as I spend more time in the flying areas haha.
I honestly feel that thing is an insult, as long as it actually takes to get the coms for that mount, you're reward is the exact same mount you already had, but colored gold.

Can it fly...then it'll be even more the best mount ever. XD
In all seriousness though the Gold Magitek is probably only good for collecting reasons (for completionists). I haven't used my vanilla one after I got Griffin and good ol' blackie (Black Choco).
My friend recruitment codes (I put it here because in the thread it just gets out dated quickly by new posts):
My code(1): HVTRTX6P (Unused)
My code(2): RAJHW2J3 (Unused, but could be invalid at this point)
And I just got out of a Vault run.
No commendations, but eh, not worried bout it.
I *did* give mine to the poor NIN that was tanking the floor though, because he was a good sport about it.
I personally would love to get the parade chocobo but as a DPS class and especially now as a gimped/badly scaled DPS class...it would take years. SE can keep the gold magitek mount though. Looks so tacky.

Giving commendation to healer or tank is pretty mainstream though.
Why get angry over this? Sometimes you notice when a player does something awesome and you know you'll commend him/her at the end for it. Players aren't always watching for how you play because they're busy watching their own toons/trying to not die/get through a part. Don't take it personally.
If you don't feel you're being adequately rewarded for your performance, stop playing at max performance. I personally commend people who go above and beyond, but most don't. In any case, no one has the right to tell you to perform at 100% all the time if you don't want to for any reason if you're getting your job done either way, so don't do it if you don't think it's worth your effort.
I dyed my chocobo black.
