I don't give commendations based on performance. Well, maybe, but here's basically the hierarchy:

    1. Someone who pulls off an amazing feat that basically saves the entire party/dungeon/raid. This can be done by a party member in ANY role.
    2. Someone who amuses me. Usually by chatting.
    3. Someone who says anything at all that isn't negative.
    4. A DPS.
    5. Coin flip between tank or healer.

So whichever happens first on my list gets the commendation. ^.^

I use much the same hierarchy, with a few differences. Mine would be:

    1. Someone who pulls off an amazing feat that saves the entire group.
    2. Someone who, throughout the run, amuses me in an active way. (Once isn't enough, and a passive joke like a funny name doesn't count.)
    3. Someone who is social throughout the run and was generally pleasant to interact with.
    4. Someone who caught my eye as having done excellently in their role.
    5. Nobody.

This is a game. I will always commend someone who increases my enjoyment of whatever content I'm doing. My enjoyment > the speed/smoothness of the run. Some of my most enjoyable duty experiences have been objectively terrible runs that were made great by great personalities.

#1 is amusing to watch. It's like watching sports or something. It feels amazing seeing someone pull off a stunt like that!
#2 is amusing by definition. If someone has a good sense of humor and ropes the party along in the silly, then that's great!
#3 is just nice. Even a bad run can become a nice memory when you're in a group containing socially active members who chat it up!
#4 is the least important of all. Smooth runs? Cool. Thanks. Since no one met the criteria for #1, #2, or #3, I probably couldn't wait to escape my boring group for the duty.
#5 If not a single party member met any of the previous 4 criteria, then no one deserves my commendation.

Good grief. OP reminds me of a little kid who throws a tantrum at the market when mummy won't buy her a chocolate. Even though she tied her shoes all by herself today!

Congrats op. You did your job, stop expecting people to lick your boots for doing it.

True AlphaFox, I was hoping that over time the trolls votes would be negated by the other votes. Like if 90% of people gave you 4, 5% gave you 5 and 5% gave you 1, then you'd be sitting at around 4/5.

I agree plenty of people won't vote on this, just as some won't commend, I just think this would be more useful for gauging your own performance (or at least be more interesting than the current system).

The person who helps newcomers positively always get my vote. And at least say "hi" at the beginning. To me it's really rude not to say anything at all.

OP: the people probably just didn't realize how good you're doing. healers go unnoticed unless we mess up and get ourselves or someone killed.

I always give commendations, don't have a specific criteria, depends on the run, even in the messy runs (which usually turns the run more fun to play, because you have to leave your comfort zone).

    Dungeon is over. Zero commendations.

Might as well remove the whole commenndation thing because it's clearly a farce.

The purpose of playing any game is to have fun. At times it can be fun to get a static group of players together and push your skills to see just how powerful of a foe you can collectively overcome. But when running Roulettes with random people, that same sort of tryhard optimization becomes very un-fun.

Hands down, every single time, I will Commend people who are talkative and enjoyable to play with. They make the game fun in ways that players hyper focused on statistics do not. I would much rather spend 35 minutes clearing a Low Level Roulette with 3 people who are fun to play with than 20 minutes trying to stay awake as we roll through it optimally, with no spare seconds to chat.

Most commendations I have gotten as healer is when I save wipes. That's when you get noticed. If everyone's always topped off, then you are ignored. It's just human nature. You think about doctors when you are hurting not when eating a cheeseburger and banging the babysitter.
