Telportation suggestion. ( One of Many )

There are many controversial topics and or suggestions about how we should keep, remove, or change the way teleportation works in this game.

I recently made a post about abolishing anima due to the implementation of Chocobo, Air Ships, and Boat Rides that are already in place.

Rental Chocobo apparently have x2 or x2.5 the running speed of the standard movement speed. I'm assuming that Chocobo earned by Grand Companies have a higher speed then the Rental. It also looks like that we may have an ability that allows us to Chocobo dash for even faster speeds( The chocobo dash is speculation at this point )

Having anima along with our new means of transportation really does negate the purpose of the other 3. Anima allows us to Instantly port us and the entire party from ANYWHERE on the map to any Node and or City that we have come in contact with. That is a little too much IMHO.

Chocobo will have their sole use for faster travel on foot from city to camp. Airships have a sole use for instant City to City travel, Boat rides will have it's use for City to City travel possibly with extra content accompanying the boat ride and or access to new continents.

IDEA:

City <----> City <-- Aetheryte : Death --> Any saved Home point : Chocobo --> Aetheryte/Camp

I suggest we remove anima. Keep the ability to teleport us to your Home Points every 10 min. Each Aetheryte within each Continent has the ability to teleport us back the Main City of that area, almost as if it were an Out Post Warp ( Free of charge of course )

EDIT: Aetherytes will have a sole purpose of initiating Guild Leves for the Disciples of War or act as Future Quest Hubs and optional Home Points. The Crystals in the Main Cities should be used to turn in the Guild Leves for the Disciples of Land. This will balance out the removal of anima and as well as balance every mean of transportation.

This will not only allow SE to develop new means of transportation but give all means and future means a purpose and a balance. This will promote Exploration, Immersion, Depth, Additional Content, and should in the end satisfy both sides of the coin.

It's a similar post to Jobeto-Rin but mine is more direct and opinionated differently.

This again lol.
Dude, you need to drop this whole idea of removing anima, it's the second time i see you posting on this. Just stop using anima if you don't like it.

I don't agree with you that it will promote exploration. The only thing that it will promote is repetition and wasting time running with a chocobo when I could have teleported there instantly.

Like I said earlier, those people that like to explore will do it with or without anima. Don't ruin this for others like me that appreciate fast means of travel because we actually have a life and play this as a HOBBY.

Resorting to the "get a life" argument. Real classy there, pal

I completely agree. Being able to teleport anywhere in the world defeats the point of having an open world in the first place. Through use of instant airships and chocobos, traveling to any camp currently in the game will take no more than 10 minutes TOPS, unless your going to somewhere in the middle of Mor Dhona, in which case it SHOULD take a somewhat difficult journey to make it to a high level, end game area.

Also to those saying "well then just don't use anima": In a game where travel is done instantaneously to anywhere is the norm, when in a party or group, you will be expected to use it.

Now, saying all of that, there is one huge, glaring problem with the abolition of instant transportation. The world is dull, lifeless, and leaves no reason or motivation to explore. Unless the entire game map is redesigned, I don't see anyone being okay with having to trek though it every day

So you are saying that if Dodore pops, and is only up for a window of 26 minutes, I should get some people together and chocobo all the way there and kill it?

By the time you would get there, weather would change. Think about it.

Leave the damn anima in place, people who use it often always run out of it. The chocobo is only means of travelling in the same general area and "exploring" if you may, or simply saving anima between camps.

You take it away, and you just add more inconveniences to the people that have a limited time to play.

Yes, because you're going to start your journey to Mor Dhona, the second Dodore pops.

It's called planning

Also, if you have limited time to play, then do leves. That's what they're there for, and you don't have to go out of your way to do them. If you want to fight Dodore, you should wait until you have enough time to do so. Not everything should be dumbed down to account for that

When was the last time you killed Dodore? If it depops, it's not an automatic re-pop the next weather change. I crafted in that area for 3 hours one evening and it didn't pop. You cannot effectivelly plan something that has a random pop timer on it.

We can argue like this forever, we obviously have different opinions.
