    Raids - post expansion

The wait times are out of control now. Because raids aren't in the Duty Roulette (for good reason prior to the expansion release) people aren't running them anymore. For someone like me with no expansion that's just recently hit the high-end raids... It sucks. Honestly, ruins the end game. I might not have bought the expansion but Square-Enix is still getting my monthly sub.

I've come to enjoy a lot of things about FF14 but raiding through the Duty Finder has been killed off and it hurts players like me.

    The fix:
Add level 50 raids to the Duty Roulette. It'll keep vanilla content alive & won't imbalance the game (like it could have pre-expansion due to bonus payout + top tier gear farming).

Give it time, they've said they were going to adjust these at some point. That and once people start finishing content they are most looking forward to they'll go do some of that stuff again.

There's little reason to do the old content for anything other than daily roulettes or if they want some kind of minion or mount from those places. Unless they do something to seriously fix it, such as adding in experience gains to level 50 dungeons, or updating all of the level 50 dungeons to give at least a minimum of ilevel 120 gear, I do not see this changing.

Not sure if this would ever happen.

With most raiders moved on to Heavensward, those who would run Coil are most likely new players and the rate of failure and inability to complete duty at the provided time is rather high.

I've know lots of people probably wouldn't even want to run low level roulette unless leveling a new job and needs the XP, so I couldn't think of substantial reasons to run a Coil roulette

We ran coil again for allagan leather, wootz nugget and allagan silk. Could happen again....maybe.

Exactly. This is an issue I'm already experiencing. I find all of the end game content highly enjoyable, challenging and in some fashion - easy. It's been frustrating to wait 40+ mins to finally get into a raid just to have a team completely fail. YouTube video guides too good; yet, go unused.

I don't think of myself as some game designer but I do believe there's a way they can keep vanilla content alive (with incentives) without unbalancing the end game.

People should not be required to look at guides to go play a dungeon. That's what makes them enjoyable, but FFXIV's design of fixed team setups and instant wiping people who do not follow the method runs counter to this and forces players along a set play style.

People will run it for glamour and whatnot, but outside of DF and any possible future roulettes most people will rather make undersized parties to do the content much easier unsynced.

It wasn't much better before HW. I had to wait over an hour a few times for coil raids. Try a turn that wasn't popular and you'd be waiting well over an hour. I actually went to t9 the other day and only waited 10 minutes as a bard. That was after HW and probably the fastest queue I've had.

If you are just talking CT, the queue times will definately be longer. People farmed those to no end as you had to for gear. Most people are probably tired of them.

I just tried to queue T1 of Binding Coil. Gave up after an hour had passed because it didn't look like we were getting the two tanks we needed any time soon.

I agree there should be a roulette for the raids. The main reason I want to raid Binding Coil so badly is for the lore. I've spoiled myself just enough to know the final battle of the final Coil is Bahamut himself. I mean, come on. A bunch of people have wanted a piece of that dragon ever since seeing the End of an Era cinematic. Newer players such as myself included. I trust SE when they say they're going to find a way to keep the raids relevant. One of the big downsides of World of Warcraft was that most players never got to see the 'endgame' of any of the stories. The raids and dungeons weren't integrated into the questlines like FFXIV does (something I really appreciate about FFXIV), so unless they went out of their way to find a group running old raids, they never get the chance to down the Lich King, or Illidan. I'm hopeful SE is going to avoid that trap, allowing newer players to experience the lore.
