    I don't see them creating a job JUST for the gunblade, when Machinist is still poking around and most aren't too thrilled with the job as it stands right now. If anything, they will give that job gunblades, you can pretty much count on it.

    I wouldn't go that far with machinist but if they do it most likely may be a Gun Attachment for level 61 to 70 skill that change the Gun skills into Melee skills. However, we already know how people feels about change a Jobs gameplay style and changing MCh gameplay from a Range user into a Melee DPS user may cause some bad friction so doubt this may happen.

    However, considering the nature of Gunblades in FF14 currently being more Melee orinated for their combat with their Range combat as a secondary combat use we have seen so far in cutscenes they may make Gunblade a separate Job if they introduce a Gunblade user.

    The lesson learned from this is not to refrain from introducing changes to gameplay when necessary, but to ease people into it. BRD had the misfortune of being designed around instants and off-GCD attacks and they shoehorned casting into it without revamping the job's overall gameplay to be cohesive with casting.

    People wouldn't have had this issue if SE had made changes beyond adding WM and that one change to Barrage.

    I've seen too much enfire (freaking little PLD wannabes casting enfire on themselves during that fight in the lv60 PLD quest) and swords lit up by Ilberd to not think that RDM is not in the pipes. What worries me is how they're going to implement it.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:
