So if 1 new Job in 3.X era...[spoiler]

This disucssion will contain some spoilers.

    So simple question...

If SE release 1 new Job in 3.X era what do you think it will be?

I have no clue myself but my best guess would be something that can fit into Ala Mhigo lore or Garlean lore or at least something that allows the Job to be introduce within 3.X era MSQ without it feeling out of place either being...

Dancer Job (A lot of refugees are heading into Eorzea as was mentioned throughout the storyline so maybe a group may bring with them the Dancer Job arts or is already some where in Ul'dah)

Gunblade Job (The game been beating us with this Weapon since 1.0 and still continues to torture us with Gunblade users in 3.0 keeping this one Weapon type out of reach for Players or gameplay. Garlean Empire is rising once again and there remains the possibility of garlean defectors in Eorzea who may bring with them the Gunblade arts.)

I'm hoping for more balance to the force. By that I mean more DoM. We have so many DoW and so few DoM in comparison, I would love to see more DoM jobs. Either some kind of Mage Tank or to finally get our beloved Red Mage.

What I think we will see in the 3.X expansions is, Nothing. The only reason they released the ROG/NIN like they did is Yoshi-P felt that job was missing from the initial lineup of classes due to the sneaky stuff it could do. It was the one element that was not existing in the game.

I don't see them creating a job JUST for the gunblade, when Machinist is still poking around and most aren't too thrilled with the job as it stands right now. If anything, they will give that job gunblades, you can pretty much count on it.

I have no desire to see a gunblade wielder because its not very classic FF job-like.

I'd rather see Dancer or Samurai.

If we ever got a new job before the next expansion (which sadly is not likely), I'd hope for Dancer, personally. It's one of the main classes I'd love to have in here, especially after watching it in FFXI.

I wouldn't go that far with machinist but if they do it most likely may be a Gun Attachment for level 61 to 70 skill that change the Gun skills into Melee skills. However, we already know how people feels about change a Jobs gameplay style and changing MCh gameplay from a Range user into a Melee DPS user may cause some bad friction so doubt this may happen.

However, considering the nature of Gunblades in FF14 currently being more Melee orinated for their combat with their Range combat as a secondary combat use we have seen so far in cutscenes they may make Gunblade a separate Job if they introduce a Gunblade user.

I can the next job being Samurai whether they turn it into a dps or tank who knows? If anything there might be more concept art/ moveset being planned due to that one leaked image with a samurai folder in one of the live letters

I'd say none, NIN was a special case because it was something promised for a long time and they finally delivered but it was one of those things they wanted to release before an expansion and not with or after an expansion.

the other 3 jobs are a test of insanity, they've made it rather clear that they have no plans to ever do that again and with good reason, it's hard as heck to balance. I mean if we look at XI we can all agree they didn't really push hard enough to keep all the jobs balanced, but 14 does it's best to keep everything balanced. With that said there are of course still issues that need to be ironed out, but it's because of those very issues I don't see them pushing a new job in the 3.0 era nor do I expect to see new jobs in 4.0.

However There were little nudges as how they could introduce new jobs that don't exactly fit into roles, or play with others nicely, like BLU they used as an example that it could be a job designed for solo play. So perhaps we might see something like that in the future, however when it comes to party based jobs being introduced, if we do see one it won't be in 3.0 but there is possibility it could be in 4.0

For anyone that's done NIN job quest and just the representation of each story seems to be about revolution and rebuilding. I get the feeling that we might go to the far east and help Yugiri and other clans with their issues and assist them against the Garlean threat.
