I've heard some pallys are going all strength now, have you heard of warriors doing the same?
You mean you haven't?
Warriors going full Strength on their builds has been going on for ages, and until recently I almost never heard of Paladins doing the same. Back when I was a brand new player leveling Warrior and stacking VIT because I didn't know what I was doing with myself, I got into arguments with people insisting I should put everything in STR. I don't like to tell people one method is inherently superior to the other since it depends on the player and the group and the situation, but full-STR Warrior is a very viable and popular build. The more confident you are about maximizing your cooldowns and your self-heals, the better the build is, too.
I got warrior to 52 but I'm still new to it. Just trying to figure out the little things. Thanks for all input.
As an added note, in 2.xx it was more efficient to spec to strength and wear additional vitality accessories if you needed more HP to survive.
In 3.0, the strength accessories have MORE strength on them than the vit accessories have vit, so it's more efficient to go backwards on this one, and adjust your 35 attribute points to vit accordingly and swap accessories out later.
The good news is it gives you something useful to spend GC seals on now!
There are generally 2 ways to get the right amount of STR & VIT: bonus points and accessories (weapon/armor doesn't count really).
The right amount of STR & VIT is determined by "how little VIT can I go, survive, and not give my healers problems?" Every other point beyond that should be shifted into STR.
I've known some warriors to go all STR, both points and accessories. Personally that's a little too squishy for me. It varies based on what you're fighting and how good your other gear is compared to what you're fighting. For example, learning t13 I started out with points in VIT and accessories all crafted (Str/Vit hybrid). Ended 2.x with all points in STR and 3-4 accessories pure Str (1-2 Str/Vit hybrid).
If you're just leveling through dungeons and story quest now, it really doesn't matter. Make it a little easier on your healers or make stuff die just a little faster. /shrug
I go with VIT for my points, and all STR accessories. Without Defiance, I have 1.1~k HP and with Defiance on, I go 1.3~k HP. Enough buffer to handle any slips from the healer.
Because I care about the run and if my healer can't heal me enough, I can easily get access to more vit through my vit accessories.
As much as I like pulling big numbers with my WAR, my main role comes first and that is to survive and let them all punch me to oblivion. I've had several cases where the healer can't just heal me enough so the extra HP buffer helps through + Thrill of Battle.
I've had several people told me to go with STR and I did once, but I see that the damage I output isn't that much big of a deal anyway and my agro was never a problem.
tl;dr I prefer VIT on points and STR on accessories while having spare VIT ones so I can ease the burden of less-able healers.
