Darkside Aura is gigantic and an eye sore.

Why is the new Darkside aura so huge? It extends several character lengths away from my Dark Knight and looks horrible whenever I'm not in battle, and nearly every single Dark Knight I see has it on permanently. I don't remember this effect being present in the benchmark or any of the preview footage, I remember a more subtle black void around the feet, similar in a way to Warriors defiance. Am I the only one so annoyed by it? I'm hoping the devs can turn it down to maybe a similar red aura that's only a few inches off your character.

I agree that it needs to be improved and suggested in another thread that it should be changed to a more dense and concentrated red mist or red flames coming off the drk's body.
Asides from preference for how it looks, not very good imo, I feel the effect as it is just gets completely lost in all the other effects going off when you are playing in a group negating any visual feedback from the effect as to whether Darkside is on or not.

It's not only large, but not even that great looking... I wish it looked more like the aura the trainer gets when you channel into him. I'd even just settle for bright glowing red eyes instead of the terrible looking aura.

I can fully get behind this. Sort of like a blackfirey defiance.

Agreed 100% I get very irritated when ever a DRK players stand near any story/quest NPC, that aura really kill the immersion. I waited for that DRK player to go away before initiate my conversation with some story base NPC.

I always turn off Darkside whenever I have no need of it. Truly an eyesore.

I can't stand the aura. I turn it off when I am in town or out just flying around. It's definitely an eyesore. I hope SE changes it to just about anything else. I really hope they come up with something more subtle.

A lot of people complain about the weakness of the class right now, but my chief complaint is the aura. I have faith the class will be tweaked over time to be more on par with the other tanks. I have less faith about the aura being changed. I really hope SE does, though.

I agree, I don't even play drk, but I still hate that aura, its pretty distracting, needs to be an option in graphics for players to disable aura's entirely.

lol that made me think of a what if being in grit gave you a similer but blue aura that looked the same but moved in a different manner to make it where they only sometimes blend.

I agree completely make it more epic not all over the place that's all I see drk running around north thana and such lol
