SE: your deadline

Not a rant, not a rage-quit, not meant for anyone in the community; only SE.

Square Enix, you have a deadline. I have 3 weeks left on my monthly subscription. You have that long to: (a) fix the myriad problems with machinist dps, or (b) fix the problems with bard stances and mobility, or (c) give the community a commitment to do one or the other by a specific, reasonable date. (Waiting until after Alex is not "reasonable".)

Otherwise, I'll withdraw my subscription. There are other games out there for me to play or go back to, and it is not worth my time and money to be asked consistently to leave a dungeon in the first 30 seconds, because my one character is a bard and my other character is a machinist. (Yes, I can return to BLM, but I never liked the lack of mobility, and there are other games with mobile dps "battle mages".)

That's all. Answer, don't answer, do as you see fit, SE. But now you know my position.

Okay, first of all, you are not their boss so it's not up to you to decide their deadlines. You are only one subscription among many. They are aware of the problems of both Bard and Machinist and have stated so in past threads.

Technically... we're all just a little bit of their bosses. Without the players, there's no SE. So.. yeah...

But at the same time, true, it's just one sub. But that's not accounting for the people who might feel the same way and are planning to do the exact same thing. There uses to be a saying in business that's really been lost due to wanton greed.

It went something along the lines of,

"For every unsatisfied customer that speaks up. Ten more remain silent."

Do what you want. If the game isn't fun for you any longer.. then you should probably get away anyway. Ultimatum isn't going to work. Businesses really do not care about customer satisfaction in today's market. They want to pretend like they do, but as long as they're getting money from somewhere then it's really just a big "Fuck off" behind your back. They're essentially going to do just enough so that it doesn't drive EVERYONE off. They'll fix it, but it will as always be on their time tables and it won't be exactly what you were hoping for. It's just the way businesses operate today.

That's not to mention that generally, unless you're in the JP playerbase, SE really doesn't give two squirts of love juice what you think. Couple that with the fact that the forums are usually pretty strong with white knights (which is why FF Fans are generally seen as the absolute most obnoxious players in the rest of the gaming community (it's also why the majority of SE's games have dive bombed in recent years... It's kind of hard to improve your games when all anyone ever does is stick daffodils up your ass and tell you how greate even the biggest pile of shit smells)), so posting it here really isn't going to garner you anything more than scorn and ridicule.

Why are all these types of posts always "me me me!"? Doesn't anyone go through the trouble of forming a petition to show proof that the playerbase is really upset at this? One lost sub isn't going to cause SE to panic like they did after "The Spirits Within."

This... Do this or I'll unsubscribe attitude, I think the game can do better without it.
Devs and YoshiP have already commented on the WV for BRD and MCH is in the same boat.
They will be keeping an eye on it and adjusting it, they do already see the problem but are still looking for solutions so it is not too unbalanced
