"Square Enix, you have a deadline. I have 3 weeks left on my monthly subscription. You have that long to: (a) fix the myriad problems with machinist dps, or (b) fix the problems with bard stances and mobility, or (c) give the community a commitment to do one or the other by a specific, reasonable date. (Waiting until after Alex is not "reasonable".)

Otherwise, I'll withdraw my subscription."

That is the very definition of an ultimatum, and happens to be a threat as well. Grow up.

Anyone else find it funny that all of their complaints are based on a job which has only existed for a few weeks and they're ALREADY making ultimatums?

I mean, were you even enjoying the game before Heavensward came out, or was this the straw that broke the camels back? If you weren't enjoying it then, what made you stick around? I doubt one single class was the reason, and certainly not Mechanist of all things. You can see the problems related to that job from the opening gambit; it's why I never really got into it.

I'd understand if you'd been a lifelong Bard and the job had changed so much it wasn't recognizable anymore, but you literally just jumped ship to play an entirely new job and are already complaining about something which hasn't been around long enough to be adjusted properly. Patience is a virtue that no one seems to have these days.

That's why you just ignore and laugh at these type of people, the audacity to even demand that an entire company cater to their will because a job is not fixed within 2 weeks of being released or their old job isn't working like they want it "as any sane person who has ever played an mmo know new jobs are always tweaked shortly after releases"

But this "do what i want or i will quit!" attitude has been common since forever. Not knowing that them unsubscribing won't even put a dent in the people who are happily playing and enjoying the game. This was still funny tho.

So this thread's a thing, but there is something I want to bring up:

I disagree. Why?

If there's a piece of content which could be balanced in such a way that it would forcibly exclude certain jobs, it'd be Alexander. With that said, the playerbase has no knowledge yet of the mechanics and demands of this content. Factors we don't expect could play a huge role in what classes are in demand - consider how Dragoon fell sharply out of favour at Final Coil because all of a sudden they just didn't have the survivability in the face of all the magic damage going out. That was something nobody could have predicted until it actually happened.
For one instance, a factor to consider is that while Bismarck/Ravana haven't been too bad on them, healers are probably about to rediscover the meaning of the words MP Cost - and so long as that exists, the ability to restore TP/MP will be invalueable, and people will call for a BRD/MCH for it.

Square has not let jobs linger undesireable for long. Warrior. Black Mage. Summoner. Dragoon. All of these jobs got changes during times in the 2.x cycle that they were viewed as useless. I don't know why people think Bard or Machinist are going to be different.

If I recall, some of those classes got proper changes very long after 2.0 came out, that's unacceptable and they should have learned from that.

It's SE own fault for not doing proper PTR testing with the classes, they should have a system in place for this. (And I say for the classes, nothing else that might spoil content!)

The OP says he's been asked to leave content for playing a class he took awhile to level, perhaps he has no time to level another class and thus it ruins his enjoyment of the game, which he's paying monthly for I might add.

As for the team listening.. what? Yoshi-P made one statement ON THE JAPANESE FORUM, that's been translated half-arsed or Yoshi-P made a skeptical comment on how the classes 'might' be broken at the moment and how the 'might' fix it in some manner, of course he's not telling us how.

Second part:

Is it too much to ask for a developer working on the class to say "Yes, I'm making these and these changes, please give me feedback" on every damn forum, not just the Japanese one, because quite honestly, that's racist, we're getting worse treatment while paying the same.

Our English support for the game has been lackluster to just plain horrible, one going as far to spoiling story while he answered a question, for everyone to see in the sidebar.. in the first couple of days that Heavensward got released.
