    Chocobo coloring?

I just started playing for the first time after owning the game for two years (shame on me) and I understand I can feed my Chocobo certain foods to change the color but what I don't understand is how; I know there's a quest I have to do but does it also require personal/FC housing? Can I feed the Chocobo more than one item at a time or is there a cooldown? Any help would be appreciated greatly!

You need access to a Choco stable, so a personal house or FC house. Then it is feeding it certain fruits varying quantities to achieve the color you want. The fruits can be bought off the MB at a price, or grown if you also have access to a garden. This site is a reference to what is needed for the color you want: http://ffxivchocobo.com/#results

You also need to be level 50. And you can feed it as many fruit as you like at one time. Please note: If you don't see "Your chocobo begins to grow new feathers" after feeding it a piece of fruit then it didn't work. Not every time will cause a color change, but at least that message will let you know when it wasn't successful.

You have to be a certain level, but it's not lvl 50. I believe it's 30. My choco has been snow white for quite a number of weeks now and I turned lvl 50 like a week or so ago....so def. don't need to be 50. There's also a quest that pops around Bentbranch Stables when you reach the right level that you need to do in order to change the colors.

The quest is Bird in Hand and yes, it's level 30.

This calculator site is really good for getting the results you want. Depending on the color you want you may be sitting there feeding for a while but if you follow the suggestions you'll be happy with the results.
