Can't buy Heavensward just because FFXIV has free trial in its name on Steam

My brother has been playing XIV on Steam. Even after he became a paying subscriber, the game's name never changed to "FFXIV: A Realm Reborn." It continued to say "Free Trial" on the Steam launcher, even though it was no longer free.

He is now unable to buy Heavensward because it says he doesn't own FFXIV. Any ideas of how to fix this?

Note: He says he thinks he downloaded free trial on Steam, but then upgraded to the real game via Mog Station (he paid $25 for the full game), but only an email from SE saying thanks for using Mog Station acknowledges the purchase. His Steam account doesn't consider him an owner of the game even though he owns a Steam license.

why people use steam to buy a game for pc that is available outside of steam is beyond me i play on pc and dont have this issue cause i do not use steam. this is a problem taht you have to contact steam about nothing SE can do for you since its stemas engine that is showing the wrong information.
