Thavnarion onion broken, unable to rank up chocobo

I think you are missing a step...

1. Get chocobo to max exp via feeding
2. Take chocobo out of stable and kill something so it gains exp. This will level it.
2. Restable and train using the Thavnarion Onion. This will break the max exp cap and allow you to train towards the next level.

You are indeed correct. While that did solve the problem I had posted in the title, the post wasn't entirely fruitless as I posted a second glitch. Thanks.
