Yes, you shouldn't regen a tank before the pull, because there's really no reason for it. After even one action on the targets (flash will do it), feel free to regen without tremendous worry that you'll grab anything. If you do get hate, run toward the tank, not away. You should also avoid applying a regen at the tail end of a fight.

By the same token, tanks should be cognizant of whether the they are carrying a regen effect between pulls, and click it off. Only you can remove it once cast.

I used to main healer before I switched to tank, and learning when to use Regen used to be a big point of noob/decent player, over in the Healer subforum. Regen and Fluid Aura(let us worry about positioning the mobs, pls) are both potential annoyances for tanks.

Though we can just cancel the Regen on ourselves, so your tank was also a stupids.

I'm going to have to say I disagree. Obviously tossing a Regen before a pull while fully topped up isn't usually necessary but it's only annoying if the tank and the healer aren't working together. Depending on what and where you're fighting you'll often have regen running when you get the next group of mobs/adds. The tank and the healer should know how to respond to this. A prime example of this as old as it may be is Turn 4. There are plenty of area/fights where you're pulling quickly and or having adds pop during a fight.

As for not using it on a mass speed run pull I think I need to clarify that obviously I'm meaning during pulling. The last thing you need is when you've pulled 8 mobs and you have the last 2-4 run off after the healer. All while you're trying to cement hate, position, and avoid telegraphs.
