Tonberry Character Creation Restriction

Hello all,
I am posting on behalf of my good friend who has just purchased A realm Reborn, steam version(i know), anyway he has been trying to make a character on tonberry so he can play online with our group of friends for almost a week and a half now and every attempt has been met with failure, we have done a lot of research on this subject but none of it seems to be valid anymore, mainly trying to create a character at early morning, he has stayed up quite a few nights trying to get in but so far has not.
It may help to say he is a Australian and runs on Melbourne time.
I was just interested really if anybody has managed to make say a new toon on Tonberry in the last week or so and if so at what time.

Note as well that there will be a patch next week: Anytime from 5-20 minutes before then is usually good to go for making a character on any server. So long as they made it into the first cutscene they are in.

I tested it out for Balmung a good couple months back before a maint, got in at the very last minute. Which makes sense since Balmung is almost 24/7 locked. Tonberry probably has better down time for making characters but if all else fails before maint works.

Note its probably going to start at 11 pm PST Tuesday. I'm not quite sure what time that would be for Melbourne.

Alright then no problems, I believe its 4pm Melbourne time.
I'll just tell him when to try because i will no doubt be on at that time, thanks for the information.

As I think someone else suggested, maint or whatever in a few days. Tell your mate to have a pre-made character and a short list of names and to keep refreshing as soon as the worlds go down, coz that's how I got on last week. It fills up fast, someone had commented that they tried to create one as well same day as me but the server wasn't taking any new characters, and this would have been at least 15 minutes after Tonberry came back up.

Try really early morning, after 1-2am and see if you can get in .

Thank you all, both of my friends have gotten in, thank you for your advice and taking the time to help them.

For any others looking for a solution, one of my friends got in by spamming creating a new character before the server closed down for update, and one got on by getting on immediately after the server started again.
