    Without going too crazy, some things I would like to see them do with Dungeons are:
    1. Alternative paths with different encounter types. The main reason for this is that different parties are often better suited to different encounters, e.g. PLD + NIN + DRG is better for single target, where as DRK + SMN + BRD is quite good for AoE, and it's just boring that all trash is basically AoE pulls.

    2. Random mini-bosses. Basically think APRG style rare spawns, where a normal mob is made stonger and given special buffs. These could drop Aetherial gear (inc. weapons like in leveling dungeons) of the same iLvl as the regular dungeon gear.

    3. 'Hard-mode' rooms. These would be optional side rooms containing especially challenging encounters that you only get one try at (wipe and it's locked), and would reward bonus tomes and treasure chests if completed.

    I've always had a idea of a single big boss in a dungeon.

    You start the dungeon by straight up fighting him. No trash, no mini-map, not even time to buff. Fight starts as soon as the gate goes down.

    However, you beat it up until a set amount of health, and then it would take off, maybe breaking thru walls and such to reveal your next area to travel to. Kinda like the satasha dungeon pirate guy, only something much bigger. It would also destroy area's to impede your progress, forcing you to find another way around which would have not only adds, but a randomized puzzles to solve that will be different each time you enter.

    It would be the players job to chase it down until the final showdown, which of course will take place in the normal room, with its health back to full and boss in a enraged mode from when you fought him at the start, completely changing it's mechanics and amount of damage dealt.

    Would still be mobs + boss in a way, but it would shake things up a bit. xD
