Had no problems in AK HM eariler today on my AST, I even did some DPSin' alittle bit. I've also speed run/mass pulls of CC/DD/AV (lvl Sync'ed) and have done most of the older DF's as speed runs too.

I have had people in my FC comment on bad AST's ... but I feel I do just fine with it and rarely have problems with wipes caused by lack of heals.

You can really tell the good AST's from the bad AST's based on how they handle their buffs and healing. I think Stance also affects it a little, but I'm not sure which of the two is stronger.

All I know is, Library, I've run with a Warrior tank, and on one of the runs had an AST with the audacity to say "Warrior can't handle this pull"... when we could easily handle it with a good WHM or SCH. It was pretty amusing to watch them try to blame it on being a Warrior.

I think good AST's are great and will really prove themselves in time. 'sides, they give me red cards for days.

The Stance depends on the fight I think, I've often switched back and forth between trash and bosses, depending on what I know about the boss and what I think would handle better if S*** hit the fan. The cards are by far the most RNG part, but I do not try to rely on them as if they are life or death, I use them as an extra boost to a fight instead of something I need in order to keep it together.

I donno what the deal was, I just know when we got to the last boss he had issues keeping up with the damage, and the issue went away when he did :/ Do mind that I don't dislike Astrologians. It's probably the healer class I'm a work up to 60, and I'm DPS/TankDPS4Life, but there have been times I've found them to be under powered for the task at hand, and I find that concerning for a new class, especially an interesting one like Astrologian, or Dark Knight which I've been since early access. I love it, though there are times it feels a bit weak ...
