Why are bards / Mechanists so... Sensitive? <_<

So, leveling 50-60, you'll notice a very common reoccurring theme within Bards and Mechanists.

If you say even one seemingly negative thing about them, they will either throw the biggest *****fit ever, or they'll leave the duty outright.

Case in point? Today twice while spamming Library on Dragoon, I got two bards on two seperate runs. I enter in and say "Ew Bard" as a joke, and they leave the duty instantly. Not that it matters much - the spot fills instantly - but are people really so sensitive about Bard right now that they'd rather eat a 30 minute cooldown instead of just doing the run? XD Mind you, these are all 59 Bards.

I come from a job that is literally ridiculed no matter how well you do, and anyone who talks bad about Dragoons will just say "It's just a joke." So while I disagree with the joke, I've never ragequit from a dungoun or treated people badly for it.

Mechanists react exactly the same. Is a little playful teasing too much for ranged DPS? XD

As a bard, "Ew Bard" is like adding fuel to the fire right now because we are in need of serious fixes. Machinist is likely no different.
So I can understand their wish to not deal with the drama, even if it was intended as a joke.

I have a friend who constantly calls me a Spoony Bard but it's like...whatever at this point.
Some people in general act like this. I've made tons of DRG jokes and every once in a while someone will get mad.

Spoony Bard isnt really that bad, it's a quote from another FF game and most bards view it favorably.

I know, I played most of FFIV.

I mean I have had friends say worse, but it was before the expansion. Annnnd yeah about the tight spot... really probably shouldn't make any kind of comment to non-friends/acquaintances right now. It's true that they might not know you are joking.

Still think they couldn't've wanted the exp that bad if they left though... I've stayed through terrible parties because I didn't want to queue up again. Silly queues.

MCH is in a horrible spot right now. They probably don't wanna feel like a burden or have a bad time with negative attitudes. Sooo...yea.

These two pretty much nailed it. There's no way of taking "Ew Bard" as sarcastic or 'just a joke' when you're just some random they stuck in with. How exactly are they to know that they weren't in for a veritable shit storm of berating?

Gonna crack jokes like these gotta be smarter about it. Use better phrasing, put a :V or <kappa> next to or following it. Something that isn't so flat.

@OP It's not so much that you said one lousy joke (if you were joking, hard to tell online), it's more I don't want to hear it the whole dungeon, or get kicked halfway through the run because we fail once for whatever reason. It's like the Aery run I had the other day on MCH, BLM was red-dotting all over the place but it was somehow my fault the dps was low. When the blm finally dc'ed, the tank vote kicked him and left. That's my time wasted....

I wouldn't say Astrologians are well off atm ether. I was in Amdapor hard the other day, and we wiped a couple times at Ferdiad. Partly due to the party has a whole not remembering the bosses (I love those party's btw, there are zero fucks given, which makes things so much more fun XD) but also due to the Astrologian not being able to keep up with the damage the boss was doing. We managed to finish after the Astrologian left, and we gotta White mage, and finished with out any concern of failure.

still not sure why he left though, we where discussing boss mechanics at the time, nothing about him needing to heal more.

it's happened a few other times in other dungeons as well. So ether I'm a worse tank then I thought or they need a buff.

Had no problems in AK HM eariler today on my AST, I even did some DPSin' alittle bit. I've also speed run/mass pulls of CC/DD/AV (lvl Sync'ed) and have done most of the older DF's as speed runs too.

I have had people in my FC comment on bad AST's ... but I feel I do just fine with it and rarely have problems with wipes caused by lack of heals.
