I'm not sure if giving in to impatient people is a really helpful way to go. It only encourages them.Had the same issue as well. I don't play that much and I'm way slower than many other players, so there are still a lot of new things to me.
Wanted to do the library, watched the cutscene at the beginning and the tank was like "Skip or kick".I know, you can watch them later on, but I like watching them in the context.
I think I'll do my first times in dungeons with friends only from now on :/
Just thought I'd throw in my two cents here in that if I see the new player bonus message or someone says they are new, I will let them watch their cut scenes and let them off for a few mistakes but I will not explain tactics until a wipe occurs unless they ask for it specifically, and it really annoys me when people just throw the tactics out there right away and spoil the whole fight for people who might want to go in blind.
I'm not in a duty to baby sit and spoon feed tactics but that doesn't mean I'm not there to help us all succeed and to let people get the most enjoyment out of their first run as its all down hill from there anyway.![]()
Yeah, it's not the best way, indeed. But... impatient people are ruining the experience for me as I want to enjoy this awesome game with its well-made cutscenes. With someone forcing me to skip everything, I get annoyed at them and an important part of the experience is lost. :/
And your way is just fine letting ppl go in blind is the way it needs to be unless they ask for a quick tour. No one expects a babysitter but rather a team player and you sir seem to fit that wish we had more ppl like you^^Just thought I'd throw in my two cents here in that if I see the new player bonus message or someone says they are new, I will let them watch their cut scenes and let them off for a few mistakes but I will not explain tactics until a wipe occurs unless they ask for it specifically, and it really annoys me when people just throw the tactics out there right away and spoil the whole fight for people who might want to go in blind.

So what exactly do you want? People to never be impatient on the internet?
I haven't really run into this anyways. Who really cares? Only research facility has cutscenes longer than like 4 seconds, and even that one's only like 15 seconds. By the time they're done typing "pls skip cs" the cs will be over.
When in doubt, assume sarcasm
This is completely separate behavior from being mean to randoms in DF for watching cutscenes or wiping, though. Making a party to specific parameters is precisely what Party Finder exists for. If you want to go in blind, put a party in Party Finder saying so. Other people may feel the same way and want to join you. Could be fun. ^^
As a healer if someone makes a fuss about someone watching a cutscene I will ask for them to kindly be quiet or they can wait even longer waiting for a replacement healer. They shut up 99.99995% of the time.
I actually don't care about the 30minute leaving penalty. I can cook myself a meal, code/study, watch some TV shows...
However what I do not like is sitting there watching someone get abused. I will leave a party if someone threatens another party member, I do not tolerate it and as a healer I can enforce that.
Either that or I initiate a kick vote. I do not stand for this cruelty towards players enjoying a game that is meant for fun.
It's my normal policy to tell the impatient to "sod off" in a more vulgar manner. same policy goes for ninja pulls.
learn to be patient or leave. i don't care if your in a hurry.
Impatient on the internet? lol Nooo that be to much to ask but to be patient on a game or mmo? i think is something we may ask of ppl like others have said content is not going anyway its going to be there when your ready for it. So for DF yes i feel players need to show patients and courtesy to others {sure i can't expect to force it on ppl or make SE do so} but i feel a topic like this is needed every now and then to remind players to be courtesy to your fellow adventurer after all we are all fighting and playing for the same thing yes? And if you don't have the time or feel the need to be Impatient there is always the love of PF ^^So what exactly do you want? People to never be impatient on the internet?
