Yeah, it's not the best way, indeed. But... impatient people are ruining the experience for me as I want to enjoy this awesome game with its well-made cutscenes. With someone forcing me to skip everything, I get annoyed at them and an important part of the experience is lost. :/

It's my normal policy to tell the impatient to "sod off" in a more vulgar manner. same policy goes for ninja pulls.

learn to be patient or leave. i don't care if your in a hurry.

Had the same issue as well. I don't play that much and I'm way slower than many other players, so there are still a lot of new things to me.

Wanted to do the library, watched the cutscene at the beginning and the tank was like "Skip or kick". I know, you can watch them later on, but I like watching them in the context.

I think I'll do my first times in dungeons with friends only from now on :/

It was just a random asshole. I also play tank and will make other people wait until the new player has watched his cutscene. If they try to go ahead and pull mobs, I won't tank them lol

If I go to X place for the first time, I'll watch the cutscenes.

If somebody else wants to watch the cutscenes, I'll allow them to.

This behavior is never going to change in regards to this game or any other, no matter how many voices implore the player base not to act this way. We can't control the attitudes of those that act out like knuckleheads hiding behind the anonymity behind a computer screen/tv towards other. Unfortunately, duty finder is a breeding grounds for these actions. As much as a well thought out tool to get content done, I still consider it one of the most anti-social ways to interact with other mmo players.

I would warn the the person making the threats to stop or they would get vote kicked themselves even if they are a tank or healer. It's simple enough to ask an FC friend to pop themselves into a join in progress party to replace them if needs be if they don't fix their attitude problem. The new content does not actually have much in the way of cutscene's during the content so there is very little, if any reason to force people to skip them.

Me and my friend have been very lucky with the DF groups so far. Really just the usual "Everyone says hi and stays silent for the rest of the run" but things went well, and it sure beats getting one where people try and force you to skip cutscenes or ragequit after a wipe (Bonus points there if they know people are new while they are not, and don't bother explaining anything either. Can't expect things to go flawlessly if people are new and don't know what's going on)

Just thought I'd throw in my two cents here in that if I see the new player bonus message or someone says they are new, I will let them watch their cut scenes and let them off for a few mistakes but I will not explain tactics until a wipe occurs unless they ask for it specifically, and it really annoys me when people just throw the tactics out there right away and spoil the whole fight for people who might want to go in blind.

I'm not in a duty to baby sit and spoon feed tactics but that doesn't mean I'm not there to help us all succeed and to let people get the most enjoyment out of their first run as its all down hill from there anyway.

And your way is just fine letting ppl go in blind is the way it needs to be unless they ask for a quick tour. No one expects a babysitter but rather a team player and you sir seem to fit that wish we had more ppl like you^^
