    A4. The reason warriors DPS is high is because they have a debuff where they can decrease a target’s slashing resistance.

    As an off tank, dark knights can also utilize the benefits from this debuff’s effect and that will also allow them to output similar amounts of damage. Paladins are specialized in defense so their damage output is a little bit lower.

    As for how warriors can output more DPS while main tanking, paladins have strong physical damage reduction and powerful actions like Hallowed Ground, dark knights have a strong magical damage reduction in Dark Mind, so these are the differences from the job designs.

    Not really sure why people keep saying dark mind is drks only tool for magic DMG. Grit, shadow skin and shadow wall all work for mitigation against all sources of DMG including mag DMG. If you're lucky enough for reprisal, that's another 10% less. The only tank skill that is useless for mag DMG in drks arsenal is dark dance. (No idea why if drks focus was mag DMG, why the devs gave drk this skill. Sounds like they need to look at ffxi rune fencer for some ideas.)

    Pld has: shield oath, sentinel, rampart, and hallowed (only works on very certain attacks..though I have used to mitigate some mag DMG). Awareness works against all forms of crits including mag DMG.

    War has: inner beast, vengeance, and storms path (10% like reprisal). If you want to count ehp they also got defiance and thrill.

    Where theres many multiple mobs PLDs damage isn't a little bit lower, it's vastly lower.

    It's because dark mind is the only mag damage reduction in the kit. Everything else like you said works on all damage and has a parralel to other classes for the most part.

    Dark mind is the only skill that sets them apart in magic damage reduction.

    Also, just for the sake of clarification, having tools designed for magic defense doesn't necessarily make you actually good for magic defense. If the other tanks' general defenses still manage to outperform DRK's specialized defensive options, then DRK's specialization is meaningless.

    A9. This is up for consideration, instead of adjusting this action alone, we’re looking into this as if we need to adjust the special characteristics for the dark knight job. We’ll check the overall performance from 3.05 and continue looking into this.

    ^This is telling. They just gave a subtle hint that they're analyzing the whole DARKNESS tool-kit. I'm sure AST CARDS mechanic is being given the same Data Analysis through 3.05.

    Bet it's going to be potency / percentage changes to some things, like what they did with bard. But I personally don't see DRK really changing -that- much. At least not until the next expansion where they add in new moves. Their basically the 2.0 dragoons in tank form, except their actually "hard" to play instead of one of the easiest classes to play. xD

    Finished lvling DRK. It has some cool aspects but its stuck in Kmart world. (Kmart is stuck between Target and Walmark and suffers from being the middle road) PLD is still the turtle king and WARs DPS is crazy right now. DRK is complex which I like but its not complex in a good way. Its not like a master DRK will out mitigate a PLD or DPS a WAR which is how it should be.

    Yep, tried a bit more on the drk today and its mp management is still awful, this is including with bloodprice which gets less and less effective the more skills you learn/need to use.
    I'm not a main tank player, I rarely play tanks other than to experience them, and as such, I have experienced it enough.

    Some things I don't like, in order.
    1. Mp, bad concept, bad execution, a war or pld has their eyes on the game, doing mechanics properly, where as a drk has to constantly look at his tiny little mana bar.
    2. Everything drk can do, another tank can do better, it's undisputed, war more dmg, pld more beefy but lower dmg, and no drk isn't in the middle.
