Getting refused to EX groups as a DRK

I just did Bis Ex last night with my fc using DRK in all ilvl180 VIT gear and all stats in STR and i didnt find it to be that bad really. As far as I know from my group i wasnt taking anymore damage than the WAR really and we didnt have any issue with dps checks. Before that though I was also getting refused from groups because i was DRK. People need to just ease up a bit and stop being min-maxers just let us play the game.

Bis EX is an i140 lvl fight, of course it felt fine at i180. All 3 tanks can go full STR and tank that fight, its zzz content. Same with Ravana EX tanks need to be i145ish for that fight.

DRK needs some tweaks and I'm sure they will get some soon. Hopefully before Alex Savage.

The biggest problem with this thread is that there is no content out there to test tanks right now. Once we are ungeared for a fight the true colors will be more obvious to the masses.

To me that is a strong implication that most people complaining about DRK honestly don't know shit about shit and are just regurgitating everything they heard from someone else. This is why i take such a heated stance towards mindless bitching.

Always happens. SMNs were refused spots in groups that overgeared FCoB by 10+ ilvls. When enough people complain about a job being subpar, the majority takes that as them being literally a poison to their group. DRK will only potentially have problems in Alexander Savage, but for right now it literally doesn't matter what combination of tanks you bring. The time where everyone was slightly undergeared for the new primals has long since passed, there's no reason to refuse MCH/BRD/AST/DRK at this point. Yes, they need some changes, but they don't require those changes now to do the current content.

I'm typically top 3 DPS on Bis Ex, with only one Slaying accessory and my stats in STR, as DRK. I always keep up with WAR in the fight, and WAR takes WAY more damage than we do. It's just that the forums are all crying about how "bad it is" when half the people complaining don't even play the class.

I've now done EVERYTHING every other tank does, and either kept up with or just plain crushed them on DPS.

Going to Lul so hard when they do buff DRK due to all the crying, but you'll have the people who are extremely pro at the class become DRK God's. People often say it can do as well as a warrior but it's harder to play. All that tells me is that it can do as well as a warrior and takes a skilled player to play.

To be fair, looking around the forums and seeing people post, I wouldn't take a lot of them as DRK, either.

Just in the last week alone, I've seen people claim Blood Price doesn't work while in Grit, or that STR improves return on MP. I've seen the endless threads begging for changes that make absolutely no sense in the context of the class, or the game.

Right now, if you have two terrible tanks you have to take on a run for some reason, they are better off on WAR or PLD.

Yes, the class has bugs. Also yes, most people playing it are not good.

DRK needs a buff, but that doesn't mean the class is unplayable at the moment and Square has a good history with class balancing. They wont overbuff it.

Doesn't matter. The comment "SE has a good history with class balancing" is far from true. As FF 11, through it's entire life span, has been broken and never fixed nor balanced.

Does FF 14 have a decent history with class balancing? To the point the job is playable, but not under optimized situations, yes.

Even the issues we have now that we got three new jobs in one update are not as big as some people seem to believe.
