I don't know about that, i levelled my WHM to 60 first but now i'm working on my ninja and i've gotten from 50-58 in 3 days with pretty much sub 6 min wait times on dungeons.
nah, i'm currently lvling drg and my queue times are around 5mins, there super fast at the moment
Lol sure.
You can have your FATEs, meanwhile my BRD is getting Vault queues in 5 minutes on average.
@OP
Its no more painful than leveling a new job 1 - 50 was in ARR. Hell, its even easier now than it was then. Lets review:
-Hunts (300k+)
-FATEs (20k+ at lv50 in Coerthas)
-Daily Roulettes (200k on average from HLR, LLR, MSR then 100k for Trials)
-Leves (23k each at lv50 from Temple Leves)
-Dungeons (Each run nets you a minimum of 100k exp as each boss is worth 30k+ and then trash mobs giving 4 - 8k each) Also, boss XP is affected by Rested, so while rested, an Aery Boss is worth 84k each.
Its not painful. Not even in the slightest ...

Personally I was doing Marks on my WHM, got it to 52 this way while I was finishing Main Story on my 60 SMN.
Did 2 dungeons and got to 53, did the 53 dungeon 2 times and guildhest daily 2 times with a few more hunts and I am past 54.
I plan to continue doing this and lvling WHM now that my BOT is 60.
As for queue times, i find my SMN takes just as long as WHM to get into a dungeon since 3.0 opened. (About 5 mins)
I seen quite a few players leveling 50+ in NT.

Roulette, Dungeons and FATEs. The new zones with the armory bonus give fantastic exp if you put a group together. Dravanian Hinterlands gave me 33k-38k per FATE from 58-60.

Why are you complaining about this now? You level the same way you have always leveled secondary classes just like did with ARR. DR, Fates, dungeons, leves and hunt marks/hunt logs too but now at least you have a 100% EXP increase as opposed to a 50% one used to get when leveling a second class. Another alternative method is instead of leveling all the classes on a single character, you make secondary characters which is something I did and worked well in terms of having the option of additionally leveling through questing on multiple characters/classes and with the added benefit of gaining all the quest rewards all over again which can be sold to make reasonable amount of gil each time on each character.

Dungeons and the daily mark bills or if you can stand it Northern Thanalan FATEs. Dungeons aren't too bad with rested and the gear drops are pretty good to gear up, too. You'll end up doing around 5-7 dungeons per level.
Only problem is you'll be doing tons of the same dungeons for each job you level.
If you don't have rested, I'm not sure. I guess the roulettes, but the EXP isn't that great except maybe the low roulette and trials but those two together don't move the bar much in the latter levels and have no at level gear drops.

Ah, rested EXP is excellent. However, if you play a lot like I do, you can't always rely on rested EXP - especially if you're feeling 'quick' about getting your secondary job to level 60. Also, try your best to complete your daily roulettes - whether it be high lvl, low lvl and trial, as these will give you a decent amount of EXP. Next, and this applies mostly to the DPS; go to Northern Thanalan and spam fates whilst you're in a dungeon queue. If you're a healer, then you can pretty much opt do either since the healer/tank queues are exceptionally quick.
